| [#399] Coffee 自製靚咖啡同好會 每天飲咖啡可延緩老人痴呆症惡化 2009-07-06 14:30:00 研究人員發現，每天喝3至5杯咖啡，可能有助減慢老人痴呆症的惡化速度，甚至會令病人的情況出現逆轉。但英國專家指出，雖然這項實驗結果令人振奮和鼓舞，但還需要作更深入和更長時間的研究，並不表示老人痴呆症的病人現在就要馬上開始攝取大量咖啡因。個別人士例如高血壓患者和孕婦要特別留意，因為攝取過量咖啡因會對他們的健康帶來害處。 美國南佛羅里達州大學一批研究人員在老鼠身上進行試驗，並在《老人痴呆症雜誌》內公布研究結果，顯示每天攝取咖啡因，有助抑制腦部退化的過程，例如思想出現混亂及記憶力衰退的過程。 過往也有科學家進行過類似的研究，顯示喝咖啡有助降低患上老人痴呆症的風險，但今次則是首次有研究結果明確地顯示，咖啡可直接扭轉老人痴呆症病人的病情。換句話說，咖啡因不單只發揮保護的作用，還有治療作用。 老人痴呆症的其中一個成因，是當一個人的腦部積聚某種異常的蛋白質，便會損害腦部的功能。在上述實驗中，科學家安排一批老鼠喝下混有咖啡因的水，發現沉積在牠們腦內的澱粉樣蛋白質的水平，大幅下降了50%。 今次利用來進行實驗的老鼠，年齡約18個月至19個月，相等於人類的70歲。在進行實驗之前，牠們在記憶力測試中表現得很差勁。 科學家安排其中一半老鼠每天都喝混有咖啡因的水，份量相等於人類喝下六杯espresso咖啡，即五百毫克純咖啡因。另一批老鼠只喝下普通的水。兩個月的實驗結束時，攝取咖啡因的老鼠在記憶力測試中，表現好過只喝清水的老鼠。 http://news.sina.com.hk/cgi-bin/nw/show.cgi/32/1/1/1190688/1.html |

Time your shot. French press: you want a coarser grind so the coffee grind doesn't escape the screen. |
