| [#22] Dyson d 產品超易壞 It's irrefutable that boost charge can shorten the life of battery due to intense heat and in some cases, venting of gas for some types of battery. But still not as short as suggested. Float charge can prolong its life but a bit dangerous left unattended in the middle of the night.(same for mobile, better not charge overnight, or other third party battery for gadget) There are two definitions of lives for battery, one is float charge life which can be long and the other, cycle life, obviously, it 's number of charge/discharge cycles.(declared to be hundreds of cycles but from my experience, very low in actual) |

| [#25] Dyson d 產品超易壞 Got another incident for Panny vacuum with HEPA filter, MIC. The gasket at the filter was leaking air. The filter was there but there was an air short circuit.(design fault) Filed complaint with Consumer council(no response as usual but must have this first step as negotiation), a Manager from Pan. called twice but said it was "normal". No further action. Consumer's right is unprotected in HK.(must look for appliances with longest warranty period) Recently bought an IH 1 L rice cooker(good for brown rice), Panny, 1 year warranty, 30, 2 year warranty yet a few hundreds less, both MIJ, so obvious decision. My wife was happy. A/C, now what 3 years for some brands Fridge, some brands 3 years, some 5 years Washer, Electrolux, 39 months for some models, Whirlpool, 2 years.(don't buy those having only 1 year warranty) TV, Panny 5 years inclusive of panels. Of course, the Company can still evade responsibility(mis-used, blah, blah, blah) but still better than short warranty period. Got an Epson projector which broke down shortly after warranty period but very low hours of 100 and kept inside A/C room. Repair cost was $14,000! I wrote to Consumer council with copy to the Company. The resolution was joining extended warranty at $4,000 but the actual repair cost was $700 by changing of parts rather than full LCD assembly as originally quoted.
