In fact we will be holding a rally this Sunday 25th in downtown Seattle to pushing for “Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019” (HR 3289 & S1838) because we care about the future and freedom in Hong Kong. He / she can change status easily and enroll in school or even take up employment as long as he / she can find a school issue I-20 (very easy) or company to sponsor (not too difficult as long as the person is a professional). Countries the U.S. grants visa waiver status are "friendly" countries like Taiwan, Korea, Japan, the U.K. They get different treatment than citizens of countries that require visa. |

| [#80] 移民美國 smash C-Hing....Caltech for sure is an outstanding university; campus is very small but everyone there, student and teacher, is top tier, the cream of the crop. I am sure there are a lot of Nobel laureates at that school. By the way, Caltech and the upscale restaurants and supermarkets are in Pasadena which is 5-10 minutes drive from South Pasadena. People said don't buy properties north of the Colorado Blvd if you want to live in Pasadena as north is not safe. To a certain extent it is true as south of Colorado Blvd is close to San Mario which makes the southern of of Pasadena much much nicer than the north. For me Upland is really far away and much hotter. It is a long drive from Upland to Dimond Bar and Rowland Heights and even farther to Monterey Park and Alhambra. I older I get, the less interest I want to drive a long distance. A lot of Chinese live in Chino and Chino Hills in the past 10-15 years and I have zero interest to move there because of the long driving distance to and from work. |

| [#78] 移民美國 #72 Alec6266 C-hing, South Pasadena確實係一個好區, 環境優美, 名牌大學Caltech都係嗰度. 有啲靚餐廳和高級超級市場Wholefood坐鎮, 唔會冇靚嘢食, 治安亦都比Alhambra和鄰近的地方好. 如果成日要去買唐人嘢, 行local三四個字車就可以到. 呢個地方絕對諗得過, 尤其是係唔想住唐人區但又想得到同唐人區的方便. 我自己有留意過如果我去美國住, 我或者會揀Upland這個地方, 人口密度比較低, 屋同屋之間嘅距離比較闊, 環境優美, 少中國人, 我見唔到有apartment喺嗰度. 嗰度啲屋唔會好殘, front yard 整整齊齊. Under 1M大把選擇. 就算我去Monterey Park買下嘢飲下茶都係九個字車左右. #73 依我所見公立同私人學校讀書要攞i20, 冇student visa唔會收錄你入學. 野雞學校都唔得.有Student visa就唔可以做嘢, 除非做黑工去, 餐廳做巴士男. 我唔知冇身份可唔可以買車, 到時如果車都冇㗎, 返放工同出街要人車你. 真係唔掂. #77 有唐人嘅地方就有大量中國人, 避無可避. 最後修改時間: 2019-08-23 00:46:08 |

In the years to come, HK people like them will either turn into emigrants or refugees. | [#72] 移民美國 smash C-Hing... Glendale and Burbank for sure are good choices, but property price in both cities are not cheap; price is comparable to that of Temple City and Arcadia. Also, Armenians are terrible drivers and you can find a lot of them in Glendale. I visited both Burbank and South Pasadena before moving to LA and choose South Pasadena over Burbank because it just felt right and it is close by all the Chinese communities. Too bad that property price in South Pasadena is just too high that I could not afford back and even now. |

Yeah Alhambra is a good place and I like it quite a bit; in a good day I can go to downtown in 15 minutes and there are a lot of Chinese restaurants in the area; Chinese grocery stores are close by with a short drive. For sure property price is on the rise and it is getting hard to purchase a place for U.S. Mid-400K; however, it is still more affordable, relatively speaking when compare with properties in Temple City, Arcadia, and Dimond Bar. |
