| [#6047] Leica Club I was in Milan and the gentleman carrying a few cameras asked if I could take a photo of him with my Leica...  Same, I was in New York, at the Hudson Bay "The Vessel", designed by the British architect, Thomas Heatherwick. Two Japanese girls asked I could take a photo for them. | [#6049] Leica Club I agree, I will do that as long as I feel the people surrounding me seem ok with me. Talking about getting asked by people to take pictures for them, I also had this experience. This little girl came to me in Covent Garden and asked could I take a picture for her. I asked where's your parents? She said she came here with her sisters and they were over there. These two gentlemen were playing chess and I found it quite interesting that both chess and the players are in Black and White. I stood there for a while then they said please feel free to take pictures. It was so kind that I just had to be obliged. I have no bad intention to invade someone else's privacy, but we are all equally exposed to smartphones or security cameras around us. So it is how we intend to use the photo that matters. For the purpose of photography or art, and for our own use, it should be fine. |

He did tell a lot about street photography, getting close, being introvert, using long lens for street photography, selling all other brands to become legit Leica shooter and other suff. Like you I decide when and who I would get close, more precisely if I want to understand the person more. |

| [#6059] Leica Club It was a gloomy, rainy and extremely cold Monday. The open market was quiet even during lunch time. This was Gabriela from Poland who had been living in Norwich for three years. She was going back to Poland soon. Originally I was just shooting flyby from the back because I didn't want to disturb her lunch. She noticed me taking her picture but said nothing. I thought it would only be right to talk to her and explaining myself to her. She was very friendly and we chatted for a while. I did more pictures for her and she would love to have the pictures. Taking a photo of someone when they are not aware of being photographed, let the persons be who they are at the time naturally. | [#6065] Leica Club I have not been to Europe for 3 years and only made my first visit to Asia last Oct. Spending more time in Sydney means going to places that so close yet never been to. Staycation is a new term for most and what else we can do when airlines are still not back to normal. Qantas will be flying to HK soon but only 3 times a week and when China is open... With smartphone becoming part of our life, trillions of images and videos are taken everyday. Now I get daily reminders of what I did and when, it even categorises into groups and events for me. How cool is that. Like everyone else, I have thousands of images and takes forever to delete.... :-) What makes Leica special to me is the effort I have to put in to get those images. |
