We are modern cavemen after all. Each stays in his own cave he got stuck in, no by his own choice. Shape and size, what is inside like water, soil and animals will kind of build his likes and dislikes.

Moreover, how many will ever leave the cave or hole? How many will try new experience or experiment new ideas? Just touch and say no or do it until the last breath?

There are reasons to hold on to something broken, it is not about $$$, but more others reasons. Only the owner can tell and no one can judge it is right or wrong.

Imagination or creativities are limitless so we should push for it. Enjoy every moment since our life do have limit. :-)

To all Leica fans here, have you been to Leitzpark in Wetzler? Not too far from Frankfort in Germany. Personally it is worth visiting if you are into photography and into design. I have been there twice and like to go again. If we have enough people to go, I can ask for a special guided tour and even stay in the hotel there.

So Storm Claudia has now left and we finally have no rain, miserable weather but with a little bit of sunlight.

Get out in the garden and shoot with the Charcoal-broken-Lux.

Chi,

Do you still have the SL and 90 Cron? Or they are your bro-in-law's?

I was using them the last few days, need to adjust my routine with the 90 at the beginning .

Not his, I had it for a few months from my friend who was getting the SL2.

I did try if it would suit me. Nice camera but the Leica lenses are just too much for me. If only using other makes and that is not fair.

How much would a used SL24-90 or even the smaller 28-75 Vario be? I think they are absolutely perfect matched with SL. Apart from autofocus I quite like the tone.

Summer is coming in Sydney and the sunset stays longer. This pavilion by the harbour has been popular for locals and tourists for snapshots and TikTok

Pier Pavilion, nestled on the sparkling edge of Watermans Cove, the Pier Pavilion is a vibrant harbourside hub designed to bring people together. Whether you're catching up with friends, taking in the views, or joining one of the many exciting events on offer, this dynamic open-air space is the perfect place to gather, connect, and soak up the energy of Barangaroo.

Pier Pavilion is a striking architectural landmark designed to inspire connection and creativity. Selected from over 170 entries in a national design competition, the winning concept by Besley and Spresser beautifully reflects the land, sky and sea of Barangaroo. The pavilion’s façade features a bespoke oyster shell terrazzo—crafted from more than 450,000 recycled Sydney rock oysters blended with Australian marble chip.

With its sweeping harbour views and generous 18-metre seating area, it’s a standout destination to meet, relax, and take in the atmosphere.

The roof garden

Echoing the natural beauty of Sydney’s harbour headlands, the Pier Pavilion at Barangaroo features a striking landscaped roof with endemic native plants, sandstone boulders and hollow logs, all supported by a sustainably built Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) deck.

Planted with nearly 2,500 drought-tolerant Australian species, this living roof supports local biodiversity by attracting native birds and insects, creating essential microhabitats. The responsibly sourced timber was chosen for its long-lasting durability, low carbon footprint and capacity for future disassembly. A 7-metre-wide roof oculus floods the interior with natural light, enhancing the eco-conscious design and visitor experience.

JC,

Do you still have your M8 or M8.2?

All these years I had 3 M8 and they came and gone. I believe it has a cult status now because of the CCD sensor.

Apart from some Leica own lenses I also owned quite a few Voigtländer.

I had very fond memory with two lenses, one being the Ultron 35mm f/1.7 Aspherical and the other being 50mm APO.

Some old pictures taken with either of these two lenses.

Chi,

No I traded in my M8.2 for M9 after using it for 6 months. But I still got the Digilux 3, R8 and M6. ;-)

M8 or 8.2 was the first M digital and even the sensor size was only 10+ MP and had to use IR filters when shooting outdoor....

A lot of fun but image quality is unique and colourful.

Still remember using M9 the first time, I was floored by the image colour and my old M lenses got the chance to see the daylight after sitting in the drawer for many years.

When I played the SL from my friend I also had the chance to use some of his R lenses, 50mm/f2 3-cams, 100mm/f2.8 APO-Marco and the 75-200 Zoom.

I had used the 50/f2 before so I know what to expect, basically the R version of M.

75-210 was not real Leica Glasses but a Japanese cheap pretender.

Then the 100/2.8 APO and I only had one word for it ..................."Stunning!!

Eventually I bought the 50/f2 as I always love 50mm.

Not sure why my era with R8 was either 24/35 or 80/100/180, 50mm was never my lens.

Until I had a chance to buy the 50 1.0 V4 and the 50 2.8 collapsable I began my journey with M50's. After starting M9, I bought the 50 1.4 and later 50 2.0 APO, which is a great combo with M9. My last 50 was the reissue of 1.2 which is also one of my favourites.

This was taken before I got the reissue 1.2

Now the latest M50's in black

Of course, the R100 2.8 APO is a legend, I use it a lot for macro closeup shots. Even landscape or portrait are good. A nice solo lens for travel in the old days.

M9的顏色真係好吸引,同後期用cmos嘅M記機分別很大,嗰種艷麗同濃郁感暫時響新機度都搵唔到,我都心思思想搵返部企理嘅。

JC mentioned the SL 24-90 Zoom is a stellar lens. Sadly my friend didn't have it but he found an alternative Panasonic LUMIX 20-60 Zoom.

Not spectacular as not 3D enough to me but OK.
