| [#11] 香港有冇WD MyBook HDD Control Board 賣 ? But you don't buy a brand new one to get the PCB board for swopping, do you? More than a decade ago, bought a used one at $50 for swopping, fortunately, successful.(no swopping of eprom) PCB board alone can be found on Ebay(must need the same model no. and with closer serial no). Not cheap at all. There are other problems associated with a HD, such as click of death, corruption of boot sector. If can be read during POST, chance of PCB failure is low. I did open up a HD to swop the pen but not successful.(could not read) The simplest fault is pen being stuck on platter especially power off whilst reading, simply open up, rotate the platter counter-clockwise and let the pen park once again. No fees but should clean up the platter with isopropyl alcohol and blow off all dust. Just for experimentation.(assuming total loss for unimportant data) 最後修改時間: 2019-11-15 07:38:59 |

No other components I can think of to store memory. Got a de-soldering gun(may not be applicable) and a thermostat controlled soldering iron, I have confidence in desoldering/re-soldering the 8 legged eprom. Much easier for SMD, just build up a pool of flux to remove the component as quickly as possible.(someone uses a looped wire for even heating but a bit clumsy) Use a plier as heatsink. 最後修改時間: 2019-11-15 09:06:48 |
