[#6197] Leica Club Somonica, I am so pleased to see you here, an extremely rare but exciting meeting. I know it may cause a stir here in the Leica post but I can’t help myself. Back to the LLL Z21, or even the original S21, the characteristics of performance may not be to everyone taste. Originated as a film lens from the 50’s and I think it does give a new perspective to some who take still pictures and videos at the same time, me being one of them. There are other lenses that could perform very similar to the Z21 but only very few in Leica M mount. One interesting lens but could be seen as Marmites, you either like it or you don’t. I love Marmites on toast. lol!!!

[#6195] Leica Club The LIGHT LENS LAB Z21 50mm F1.5 Lens for Leica M is not a Leica copy. Rather, to appreciate the Z21, you must first know its origin — the Angénieux Type S21 50 mm f/1.5, designed in France in the early 1950s by Pierre Angénieux (1907–1998). His lenses were known for their depth, tonal richness, and cinematic flare. Checking on some images I can't myself to compare the Russian Helios 44M-4 58mm 1:2 lens. It also produces some interesting images likely resembles those images from wide open at f/1.5 with the Z21 which glows, and oozes with character. The center is crisp but never clinical; the edges melt into painterly gradients. I must say the lens is nor everyone but I love it!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 最後修改時間: 2026-01-29 02:41:03

[#6194] Leica Club My local secondhand camera shop called me couple weeks ago saying that they received two interesting Leica M Mount lenses from a Leica user. However, he stressed that they are not Leica made. He didn't tell me the brands but my guesses would be including Voigtlander, TTArtisan or 7Artisans. It turned out that I was half right as there is a Voigt 50mm f3.5 APO-LANTHAR. To me the one is really interesting which a Light Lens Lad Z2150mm f1.5. I used to have the original Voigt APO-LANTHAR 50mm f2. I loved that lens and I regretted selling it. And this APO 50/3.5 is supposed to make it compact and cheaper. It took the design from the Leica 50mm collapsible lens. However, the Voigt may look like a collapsible lens but it won't collapse. Apparently Voightlander can not guarantee the accuracy of a collapsible lens. The engineering may take much effort and not easily achievable. I heard about the Light Lens Lab for a while now. All I know is that they are much expensive than those TTArisan, 7 Artisans and Laowa. I could imagine that the quality of LLL may be more superior than the others and also their choices of very exclusive and sought-after vantage glasses. ![]() ![]() ![]() 最後修改時間: 2026-01-29 02:27:13

[#6185] Leica Club Hi shadow-green and Chi Photography is one thing but brands can be many. Most are competing for business and survival. Many good brands came and gone for many reasons. Those remaining must have a strong reason to stay. Leica is 100 years this year and it almost disappeared if it wasn't the current investor and management. Of course fans and market conditions played an important role. Business development requires new ideas and knowing what the market wants. Hanging on to the diehard fan will not have larger market, they need to create and the young generation is the biggest one. So Leica developed Q and it was the best possible outcome and it helped Leica to re-establish its position and extend the financial resources. If you have time, we should all visit Leitzpark in Wetzler, where it displays beautifully all the new and old products, the history and future of Leica. All architecturally design with the theme of photography. So it is a showroom, a museum, a theme park and hotel all in one. ![]() 最後修改時間: 2025-11-26 04:09:50

[#6184] Leica Club Totally agreed. I should think gears help to develop and shape our style. Both Leica and Hasselblad, and indeed other makes, are good tools. Nonetheless, what you pay for may give you extra mile to enhance your photography.

[#6182] Leica Club Yeah, Hassel is now most HK Leica fans' new toys and I know a few. I can understand how it appeals to them as they need new toys..., especially they are still young and curious. 最後修改時間: 2025-11-25 11:13:01
