Bowers & Wilkins 為全新 Volvo XC90 呈獻高級音響系統

Bowers & Wilkins 音響系統首次安裝在奢華 SUV 內。創新的 Volvo XC90 也是世界上第一款使用 Bowers & Wilkins 頂置式高音技術的汽車音響系統。帶來是 2015 年最出色的產品之一。

最近推出市場最激動人心和創新的汽車必定要配備世界上最具創新性、在聲音方面完美的汽車音響系統。全新的 Volvo XC90 是一款經過徹底改造的豪華 SUV，配備最奢華和創新的內飾。奢華內飾的關鍵元素是嶄新的 Bowers & Wilkins 音響系統，獨特地調節為適合汽車內部音響信號。而且，這是第一次在汽車音響系統中採用 Bowers & Wilkins 創新的頂置式高音技術。

把高音從揚聲器箱體分離可實現更清晰更純淨的高音，尤其對於人聲部份。在 Volvo XC90 中，安裝在儀錶板上中置高音單元確保聲音清晰度。該高音使用的技術來自於 Bowers & Wilkins 標誌性的 Nautilus^TM 鸚鵡螺揚聲器，使揚聲器後部的擴散管道成螺旋形，吸收反射的聲音，減少諧振。“利用頂置式高音技術，更多的信號直接從高音到達聽眾的耳朵，因此 XC90 系統的聲音聽起來令人難以置信的真實和逼真。” Bowers & Wilkins 工程總監 Stuart Nevill 說道。

當然，聲音不只是高音。揚聲器包括 Bowers & Wilkins 具有特色的黃色 Kevlar^® 100mm 中音，看得見並由面網保護，可實現最佳的聲音廣闊性。Volvo XC90 配備共計 19 個揚聲器，由高效的 D 級放大器驅動，總功率高達 1,400 瓦。每個揚聲器均經過精確佈置和調整，以便配合汽車的內部音響效果。

此創新音響工程的結果是極盡奢華的汽車內飾和高級的音響系統。

#5 ＞＞ I think sound is not only determined by brands. So, we cannot categorically say one brand is better than others. The same is especially the case for car audio, as the design parameters and the spatial characteristics inside a car is very different from home audio.

I listened to both B&W and B&O systems in properly set up show-room conditions, both are very good. The signature sound of B&W has more mid-freq. energy whereas the highs of typical high-end B&O sound is just impressive. Apparently, B&O has accumulated a lot of design experience for automobile application, which nowadays involved a lot of digital amplification and sound field modulations. Meridian is perhaps the best in this new area as they have a head start in home applications years ago.

Audi use B&O in their cars and I can tell the system on the S6 is actually better than the one on more junior cars (S4, S3). I guess the same will apply to all other brands. At the end of the day, there is a cost involved so it would be difficult to jump to conclusion unless we have the opportunity to audition each setup in comparable conditions. This is not a easy task though, not to mention the subjective dimensions of personal choices of music genre.

Ultimately, I guess it is all about cost vs performance. XC90 being the new generation flag ship model of Volvo I would expect them to "invest" good money on a good audio system, which is important for luxury SUV that is meant for relaxing long hauls (like a tourer).
