from diagrams there like weiss DAC 202 , the ess9018 chips in man301 connect with AD797.

Yes, MAN301 has 2 versions

1) Server version with digital outputs only (AES, SPDIF, FIREWIRE)
2) Full version with built in DAC**

**MAN301 - DAC section is enhanced version from DAC202 and produce slightly better quality. The DAC202 has the best measurements and lowest jitter ever in Stereophile. As on the other thread ching(s) are speaking about objective measurements of DACs.

Enforcer: What power cord do you use to feed MAN301? Have you upgraded the firmware? What do feel about the sound?

For myself, I found the sound as aiff and as CD player are equally good, very analytical with full of details. The soundstage is excellent.

I find the sound played directly from CDs is better. Hence, I give it high score as a stand alone CD player. Of course, the music played from the NAS is above my expectation. But, still, I do give a higher grade to direct CDs so I suspect a little that the true potential/ability from the NAS is not fully explored. I am trying to buy a music grade cat6 cable to test. BTw, the power cabe is a normal one, no particular brans, can up load picture later.

Yes, soundstage, details, everything is top notch. I consider myself lucky that I bought the DAC version. Tbh, the DAC from TAD D600 is much better, but I consider the Weiss MAN301 is more than enough for me to enjoy music.

After 200 hours run-in, the dac part perform better and better, the soundstage is huge and with amazing depth.
p.s. found out the machine's wifi is not quite compatible with airport router. I changed to other brand and wifi can be configured as said now.

When you access software update through MAN iPad App, MAN301 connects to internet and back to Weiss Switzerland headquarter server. The server will verify the MAN301 IP address and location, if it is matched with the registered region, MAN301 will automatically submit the software update procedure.

Hello 唐吉訶德, if already using Weiss DACs, upgrading DSD module is most recommended. It is cheaper and it integrated with Weiss DAC(s) internal firewire cpu.

But a separated unit like INT204 can provide ultimate DSD/PCM CAS playback for "ALL DACs" in the market.

Thanks. Let's say you have a folder called "No Artist"
Inside that folder there are 10 audio files called

01.wav
02.wav
03.wav
04.wav
05.wav
06.wav
07.wav
08.wav
09.wav
10.wav

It is impossible to tag these files except manually enter them one by one. MAN301 can do that automatically according to Gracenote database, and include the HD album artwork.

This one of a kind function applies to even DSD (SACD) or HiRes PCM formats.

Exactly, tagging is so powerful now. Tell you what, I have been playing with it for quite a few nights to complete and cure those corrupted tagging in my achieve. Works like magic now, no more wrong code and no more lost files, now I am finding it all back and give it proper tagging.

In the photo, there are 3pc x 20TB = 60TB Certon Integrita NAS in absolute silent working mode.

They provide total max. 36TB content by their RAID6 configurations.

There are 6pc x Weiss Golden MAN all connected together with the Integrita through an ethernet switch.

Question: What is the max. content (TB) each Golden MAN can be mounted in this setup?

unable to log in after the latest up grade. was successful last night after many attempts but not tonight, very troublesome, dunno whats wrong. Any c-hing has the same problem, or just me? What it said is "unable to resolve host" after I click the player picture once you open the app.

I got it updated after the firmware was released. Do you have more than one iPad to control? you need to update the apps as well. Restart everything then it should be okay, as least in my case.

everything updated, app updated, checked router, off and on. used Fing to check network and and...... (crying)..... I cannot log in tonight. What have I done. It just like logging in with luck, sometimes ok, sometimes not. I really have no idea. Last night, once I posted the message, I suddently got in. Tonight, I believe I still have some work to do before I got lucky. Any c-hing can help?

Try not to use uplink, and select Man's wifi. If you can get in and see the wifi SSID as set on both Man and iPad matched.

thanks DWS, I know there is no use writing an email, cause I am not trying to complain. I will imagine I need to bring the machine in for check up but I hope I can figure out what went wrong . Tonight I got lucky, I got in. I shall keep trying til I give up, then I will bring the machine in. Thanks again DWS for the reply :)

No, I am not talking about complain. I wish you can send an email with your fing screenshot so that we can check out the problematic matters on you setup.

We have more ways to help you before you brought in the unit.
And more likely, the problem does not need to repair the unit.

is your iPad log to internet via MAN301 wifi or your router wifi?
is your MAN301 uses uplink?

I would suggest you login MAN301WiFi - The login password is "WeissMAN301"
And Uplink, I would stay away from it. If it is not near the location of the router/switch, you may get a pair of Powered ethernet connection.

Following your instruction and I found out, the machines was unable to mount synology network drive/appeared to be off line/unable to mount. So I believe it was the network drive's problem. I looked into it and changed the ip of the network drive from a fixed one to a dynamic one. Bomb, the machine found it and I just need to manually mount it and it is done. Music filled my room again. I will keep testing a few nights before I take any further action. Don't want to be a cry baby :)
By the way, yes, the up link is slow, but still ok since the wifi router is pretty close to the man301. I think I would stay away from it, worrying it will drag the system response time.
