excellent speaker for stereo and AV system at this price range. its midrange is very warm and excellent for vocal. bass is so power, tight and fast (you can experience the power and realistic atmosphere when hearing challenging albums like 天下第一鼓, it can actually shatter your house!). in fact, my subwoofer becomes redundant with this horse! the upper zone is no doubt the strong aspect of KEF Uni-Q series and will let you hear the almost imaginary 'tick' when the guitarist pull his finger off the strings.
in a nut shell, it gives a very realistic 3D, sensiable and dynamic soundstage as well as netural sound. if you want an even warmer sound, try to replace the original stainless steel spikes with copper ones. it should give you a pleasing surprise.
it's very easy to drive. i'm using a 45W tube amp and it shakes my 280 ft living room when playing The Wall and flies when playing the Variations of Chopin.
i have tried Q11 sometimes ago. still better, mostly more solid, but i'll rather save the extra $5000 on music for sharing with this babe.
