She may have lost her signature voice but not her soul.

For her early live performance I particularly love this "Joan Baez In Italy".

Again, it's just her and a guitar for the whole concert.

What makes this album so great is the circumstances surrounding this concert.

As Joan herself put it correctly in her memoir describing the concerts were not so much concerts as they were spectacles, gala events and political forums.

It was one Joan herself stood against those Maoists, Stalinists, Trotskyites and Right-wing fanatics who kept shouting throughout the concerts. If not for Joan stubborn and authoritative character I fear one would have run off the stage in the first instance.
