| [#3] Carmina Burana this is undoubtedly a top performance and top recording in the classical world i do not have the AQCD release of this title, but i own a few other EMI AQCD and is happy with its quality, especially the tonal balance As a top EMi recording, it is very challenging to the playback gears and its environment (the room accoustics), so it is a vigorous test to an audiophile- there is room for improvement if it does not sound right from a playback system Back to the topic, i would not recommend the early German press, as there is audible compression at the first and last session. Also try to avoid the EMI 2088 release from Japan ,as there is a bit of excessive re-Engineering efforts. The best copy i have encountered is the eary TOSH EMI Seraphim release. You may try to find from the Japan 2nd hand market Good luck!! |
