| [#1] 燦爛人生, The Best of Youth If you love dramatic movie, do not miss this DVD even you need to spend 6 hours to watch it. King Sir always says Drama, Drama, Drama..... See this movie you will find what Drama should really be. Nowadays, most of the Hollywood movies are so commercialize, you seldom find a movie so dramatical like this Italian movie. When you see this movie, remember to see both Part 1 and 2 as Part Two is the heart and the round-up of the whole movie. The acting of all the actors are very good, so real and natural. Several scenes are quite sentimental and really touching your heart. Remember to pay attention to a scene of a couple walking in the field and then end up with deep kissing at the very end of Part 2. This is a one-shot scene (without any cuts) of about 3 minutes to show you the core of the movie. The drawback of this movie is on the pacing, a little bit slow, especially on Part 1. If a shorter version is available, then it would be perfect. Sound and Picture Quality is acceptable but the major concern is on the story itself. |

| [#2] 燦爛人生, The Best of Youth Just finish watching this film and must say this is one hell of a movie. Never seen anything like this since The Godfather. Not the bang bang shooting scene but in the sense that there are so many elements in every seconds that you can watch it over and over. The art direction is incredible. Just pause any scene and you will find perfect color coordination. I have not seen anything like this. I mean not the Look At Me Style like ....you know who...look at me ...this is art direction... In short, just like the BBC critics, A TOWERING ACHIEVMENT THAT LEAVES YOU DRAINED, MOVED AND OVERWHELMED....UBDOUBTEDLY COME TO BE RECOGNISED AS A CINEMATIC LANDMARK. The last kiss scene is just....like the Japanese described it... THE PERFECT KISS. You can watch it over and over. One take... and so romantic and real. Man...got to learn this to kiss your girl friend.... I think the film is wonderful. Got to become a classic. The only draw back is that it is shot in 16mm instead of 35mm. But given it is shot in 240 locations, i think the Italians have found their good balance in terms of budget. Afterall, if you are watching it in a TV screen, the 16mm does work out something very interesting and bring a nice touch to the artistic end. It is grand...sophisticated...sensational...don't miss this film... it is the kind of film that stays in your heart for some time.... But if you are looking for bang bang shooting.....with cars running around...than it is not your kind of film... Try watch it and you will enjoy it and recommend to your friends.... i do... and i do it in one go. | [#4] 燦爛人生, The Best of Youth I like the movie. It is a good film. I don't understand why the elder brother (the policeman)jumped over the parapet wall and killed himself on the day of a new year ( It should be a day of celebration ). The ending is quite surprised to me as the younger brother and the girl-friend of the elder brother became lovers even though they were fifty years old or approaching 45. Anyway, it is worthy to spend 6 hours watching this film. |

| [#5] 燦爛人生, The Best of Youth The hint was given at the time Matteo took Giorgia to the library at the beginning. There is a poem that Matteo loves so much and kind of believe what life should be like and when it should be ended. And in real life, how would we understand why people commit suicide. Just like every other cases in the newspaper. If one has the sense as with any of us.... logic and value, one would not think that way.... i suppose this is why we do not understand Matteo and other people who commit suicide for reasons beyond our understanding. In my opinion, this is why this movie is so good that it reflects true life instead of life only happens in cinema... Anyway, i love this movie so so much and recommends to every one who cares about life... I watched the film twist at the cinema. So good. Just like any of us have come across at different stages of life... that is life guys.. |

| [#6] 燦爛人生, The Best of Youth I bought the DVD in 2 years ago and I just opened and watched few days before. Hm.... Maybe I don't like this kind of movie style. The content was not so smooth and make me confused. Some of actors performed well but some couldn't. Actually, I only recommand this for the person who like flat and slow style movie....It is not my cup of tea ~_~ |

| [#7] 燦爛人生, The Best of Youth Pretty boring these days and watched this movie again last night and this morning. Still enchanting and delighted. Truly a wonderful film to watch and re-watched. Saw a new edition in the street with orange color. Tempting to buy another set for collection. If they have a blue ray or HD version, that will be really nice. Also, just found out this company has changed their web site a bit and much more user friendly. Can see all the trailers and synopsis in one go without going in the title site.
