| [#2] 愛的致意---薛偉 cd+dvd When I listened to the several pieces played by Xue Wei (Zid Wei) in the CDs produced by the local TIS, I have alread found the skill of this violinist full of flaws. Since this disc is produced by EMI, i thought it should be better. Unfortunately and disappointingly, i found him even worst in this disc. I don't think i will put this disc in my cd player for the second time. To be honest, I don't think he is up to first class international standard, not to say "master class". Only good enough to play those simple works like the few old chinese folk songs in this disc. The so called "DVD showing Xue playing together with Heifezt" is cheating. They just put 2 differently recorded pieces together. Could not understand why they have to put such short movie of Heifezt, which shows that Xue is thousands of miles behind, there It is an insultation to Heifezt. Recording is only ordinary commercial grade. |

| [#3] 愛的致意---薛偉 cd+dvd I agree with what Thomas said below. In that bonus production DVD, the first piece put Heifetz's black and white show together with Xue's own is a big mistake! Xue is way way behind! Just look at the movement of the bow, Xue's performance is too bad on the bow (he can't keep his bow at the right place of his violine!). The most funny thing is when Xue finished that piece, he asked "looked like him (Heifetz)?" What an arrogant fellow! Yes, I am quite disappointed with this CD+DVD. |

| [#8] 愛的致意---薛偉 cd+dvd I am not a professional violinist although I have learned violin for a while. However I have been listening to violin music with great interest for tens of years. I used a very good headphone to listen to this CD. Technical wise, I think I can easily pin point several flaws in each song he plays in this CD. Of course I am not going to do this. Buying this CD is already stupid enough. I don't want to spend more time on it. In terms of musicality, he plays like garbage. Listen to more others and you would hear the difference. Actually I did not want to critize against this chinese violinist any further. Since you are challenging me, I add one more comment. He does not just play bad, he even looks shabby. Look at the DVD, he is always head "dup dup" while playing. His dress looks like not belonging to him (seems that his pants would fall down at any time!) Simply does not have the charm of a violinist at all !!! One reason I bought this package was to show the DVD to my daughter who is learning violin. After watching by myself, of course I would not do that any more. Then, are you a professional violinist? I sincerely hope that you are not. |

| [#9] 愛的致意---薛偉 cd+dvd I just listened to track 1 and 2 from the headphone and decide to buy this CD in Central. The track 2 -schindler list played by 薛偉 impressed me more than that played by Perlman (from Sony classical). |

| [#11] 愛的致意---薛偉 cd+dvd Did you really compare? How many times to listen to the CD again. I think as you said - never again. I don't think the notorius production team was making a joke for the world to laugh at. If "yelling" means bad technique, I think Issac Stern and Perlman need to go back to music school to learn violin again. Violin is just a musical tool to inspire and impress people. FYI, I listen over ten times to compare the schinlder list of Perlman and 薛偉. Music is an art which standard of appreciation is different among differnet people. |

| [#12] 愛的致意---薛偉 cd+dvd The inproficiency of Xue is too obvious. It should not take more than one auditioning for any experienced listener to find it out. A good violinist makes a violin "sings". But Xue makes it "yells". By "yelling", I mean the tonality, like killing a chicken. If you like the 'Schindler's List", one other record I can immediately think of is Arve Tellefsen ARCO produced by Simax. There must be much better ones. But this one is good enough to open up your ears. By the way, my criticism is maninly against Xue. I give the production of this album an average 3 stars. So, please don't pull the production team into the water. |

| [#14] 愛的致意---薛偉 cd+dvd 昨天買了及listen 了一整天,錄音很好。上來參考下網友 comment, 發現一個狂妄自大,又話自己學過下violin 就扮專家的Thomas。其實每個人都有personal favourite. if this is not your cup of tea, just say it. 唔駛話自己曾touch with violin, 仲要搬埋自己個女出黎講, 講講下又話唔再講勒。 真係典型「小男人」, 仲要係極無信心的一類。 |

| [#15] 愛的致意---薛偉 cd+dvd I did not expect too much when I bought this CD/DVD. Just hoped that it could give me some surprise. Unfortunately no surprise but only disappointment. Regret that I did not check the comments here before buying. More regret to see foolish personal attack against difference in opinion has become a culture of this place and appear not just in the social or political forum but also here a place for music software. |
