| [#281] Fisher and Pilot 古董同好會 ~ Vintage Amplifier Hi Alan, in your opinion, which poweramp match well with 80c (to drive Spendor S100 ~89db). I like 80C+Pilot232 but found a little underpower & low gain from 80C. Am looking for higher power amp with good tonality/musicality. thks. ______________________________________________ If you like for slightly higher power Pilot amp, than I would suggest you to try Pilot SA-264. Honestly, Pilot SA-232 has better tone quality than Pilot SA-264, but Pilot SA-264 has better body, bass and driving power for sure...! |

| [#283] Fisher and Pilot 古董同好會 ~ Vintage Amplifier Just got the 70RT tunner yesterday, quite surprise that it used with Bumble Bee cap and quite new inside. When I turn it on, the receiving power is counldn't believe. A normal wire be antenna that's enough. The control power of the preamp section also very well. 9 sections can be used, loudness, high and low tone, volumn control. But it's really quite different with Pilot tunner as Alan mention before. Pilot will find lots of emotion and Fisher come with high analysis power. Finially, last night radio news reporting become the most attractive programme for me. haha Just me little report sharing. |

| [#284] Fisher and Pilot 古董同好會 ~ Vintage Amplifier Actually, Fisher 50-R, 70-RT, FM-80 and FM-90X also has extremely sensitive but stable FM section. You can easily capture FM stations from mainland even using low cost antenna in Hong Kong Island. All of Fisher tuner has very sweet, fine details and very transparent tone, but also with rich and liquid body of mid and mid-high as well. Fisher tuner also sound very realistic specially when you listen to the news report at RTHK 4, but sorry to say that it is not as relax, warm, smooth and mellow as early period Pilot tuners in my understanding. |

Just ask yourself what is charcteristics of sound you like the most before you buy...! Hence - hi-fi skill and sense usually is more important than the gear alone. The skill of a good pianoist will not affect by the quality of piano at all...! He still can play good music on low cost piano or expensive grand piano as well! Just my 2 cents. Best regards Alan |

| [#290] Fisher and Pilot 古董同好會 ~ Vintage Amplifier Alan, thanks for your tips....in my mind, I already have an answer after try differnt type of good stuff...I like the transparent sound rather than moody sound in long time listening...I feel more relax and confortable about it...of course different ppl different taste....I agree and believe your way....for me I buy fisher more than pilot...so I chose already,,,however, both also beauty as a art piece which is valeable to own if you have money and space...haha |
