| [#327] 最蠢的CAS 因為 Real Time Protocol 的 error correction 的空間很少甚至沒有. 例如看 Digital TV 的起格現象即為 error. 相比之下, 非 real time 的 protocol 如 TCP/IP 的 7 個 level 起碼有 4 層可以做 error correction. 飛機, 導彈, 同穿梭機都係 real time, 以前我地讀書果陣聽到 "Real Time Protocol" 都會肅然起敬. 如果 Weiss 能做到 Firewire 都出到 jitter free "換線無分別", Kent 兄可否介紹下 Weiss 個 firewire protocol stack 點樣 work , 點樣做到 "換線無分別". 等我地學下野. 先謝! 最後修改時間: 2010-03-18 10:07:27 |

| [#334] 最蠢的CAS would it be easier to use optical isolation and put the pc away from your audio system ---- i'm not thinking about toslink. if one uses say firewire, get an optical extender for firewire. althought the spec firewire does mention isolation, the effectiveness will be very much implementation specific. if we use optical to achieve galvanic isolation, the interface between the pc and firewire will only be a data transfer problem. the data transfer protocol has to be perfect othewise the hell would have broken loose long time ago. |

| [#336] 最蠢的CAS Shouldn't digital transformer coupling taken care of this? ------ yes. for firewire i think it specs either capacitvie or transformer isolation. most use the former though. how good? who knows but the fact that people report effects of various firewire cable does not instill much confidence. optical extender on the other hand can physically relocate the pc to somewhere else. this solves the mechanical and electrical noise in one go. damn they are expensive. well, kind of. |
