| [#24] 整日跳綫 CD drawer plastic plate has to be taken away, unscrtew these two nuts, then the whole transport can be taken out. Open the tray, You see two screws, unscrew them, then the bars stationing the laser can be loosen and replace the laser head. Lock the bars with the screws and plug all wires (3) . Job done!! Rubbish CPU, can you teach people like this!! You know shits  |

I always teach people here, though somestimes not very correct, may be, but it is the attitude that gained the welcome. Not just by copy and paste can make you a hero, experience and actual DIY is most important. It is the enthusesium that people like to correspond with me, see on the contrary, this rubbish cpu has been kicked away from many threads. Making troubles here and there. I don't know him, but wonder why he is so unfriendly to all web-friends, may be too lonely abroad. May be his personal characters desert him from people. | [#31] 整日跳綫 如果我係三洋的話事人, 就炒哂呢個轉盤的設計者, 整得 crumsy 又浪費工驟, 好難安裝, 即是增加成本。有時, 做修理的就有個心理負擔, 就唔同機主, 機主自己拆散左, 砌唔返, 至多 xyz xxxx掉了它, 買過部算了;修理的一下失手砌唔返, 就大鑊啦, 點同機主講話拆散了, 成架散哂。原來架機係佢地結緍紀念物, 點賠比人!!講返正題, 原來再要拆兩口 screws, 然後再劏甩D 膠水( 痴實成個鐵架) 才拆到條鋼心, 就拆到個光頭。講起呢個光頭, 又要打個 designer pat pat, 拖條老鼠尾, 長夾硬, 男人係咁就正哂啦, kkakakakkakakka!! 個光頭移動時, 條尾會唔多唔少 cake, or 頂個光頭滑行, 刑成跳線 this kind of description, rubbish cpu can you let us have one, can you?? |

| [#32] 整日跳綫 I also have a Kreatura (now kept in storage) and had replaced its laser before. My problem was not skipping but inability to track TOC of some discs and unable to jump to high number tracks (say 12+). Replacing the head was pretty much as 254mm decribed and fortunately I did not mess up. I also fine tuned the "E/F pot" as Pierre Lurne told me in a letter that it may solve some tracking issues. I do not know what it does nor did I have equipment to accurately test it. I just tried different settings (using a flat head screwdriver) until I hit a better tracking setting. Maybe 254mm Hing can tell be what this E/F pot is about. The new head worked well for about a year then deterioted somewhat (occasional high track number problem). Maybe it was the replacement head I bought by mailorder from China or the machine was really getting old (It was nearly 10 year old then). I have no idea if this is relevant to the Mephisto at all, but since 245mm Hing is talking about the Kreatura (which I quite liked), I just want to share as well. |

| [#34] 整日跳綫 Hello, accudue, I have a file mentioning how to trim the few trimmers of this kind of old players. The trimmers are likely as Focus Gain, Focus Balance, Tracking Gain and Tracking Balance. One thing I would like to add, after each tuning, better to re-power the player and let the old kind controller IC to reset the settings(BTW, new players' controller are all automatic, and don't have this kind of troubles). As amateurs like you and I, we do not have the equipments and scoop to help trim these trimmers. Another thing discouraging, you cannot tune the trimmers whilst it is playing, just can't. You know what I mean, accudue!! The trimmers are hiden on the opposite side of the transport, how can you trim them when playing the disc. I came acccross the same problem like yours, the player can play discs, but not jumping to like 6, 9 track, for example. Don't know why,I did tuned the Tracking Balance, but no fruitful results. Then I gave up, what can we amateaurs go further without the help of essential equipments. for your reference. The description is in Chinese, hope you can understand!! 有些朋友玩了長時間的隨身聽後或者買了老機玩結果用了一段時間後竟然出現跳音,或不認盤的情況出現,問題的所在大部分一是光頭狀態不好了,老化了需要更換.還有一些的問題就是光頭尋跡不準確或聚焦不准了, 這該怎麼辦呢? 解決的辦法無非是送修,不過也可以自己試一試. 我搜尋了許多資料,只找到了針對sony 老機比如303,350的光頭調校的方法,大概整理了一下: 一般在機子的主電路板上標有501-505的電位器, sony 的老機器上這幾個電位器的標注和代表的功能大體一致,具體代表的中文意思我就不翻譯了: 501 – TG – tracking gain 502 – TB – tracking balance 503 – FB – focus bias 504 – PLL – phase locked loop 505 – FG – focus gain 對於504可能在一些機器上代表的功能不一樣,但是你反正不用調它,對於其他的電位器在D-88, D-303, D-350以及D-777上要用到. 下面舉兩個例子(國外玩家的做法): 對於我的D-88,調節 tracking balance (502)就可以修復跳音的毛病. 向左調整它直到出現跳音然後用相同的方法向右調整, 然後讓電位器處於二者位置的中間就行了. 然後調整其他電位器,調的過程中要輕輕敲打機器參照出現跳音反應的靈敏度慢慢調整. 最後的結果是明顯的,不但修復了跳音的毛病,輕微的搖晃它都不會出現跳音了. 還有一種方法也不難,最好就是用示波器了,不過用聽的方法也不錯 將要用到一下幾個電位器: Focus bias: 調校光頭聚焦. 當播放CD盤的時候邊調校它邊仔細聽著機器直到 “最安靜” 的時候. 使用示波器: 看RF的信號調校它直到信號出現最尖為止. TG: 調校tracking gain. 迴旋它直到光頭出現光,此時可以聽到最高頻的聲音為止然後向相反方向調1/4. FG: 調校focus gain. 迴旋一點光頭塊出現雜音,從這一點向相反方向調一點. 這一點用示波器做,因為Fe信號(focus error)不能大於100mv. TRV: 調校 tracking balance. 這個不能用聽的方法了,用示波器看Te信號(tracking error)應該在搜尋音頻中間. 如果沒有示波器: 先在中間位置,然後慢慢調看什麼位置能讓機子最快找到軌道,不停的調校直到能最快尋到軌跡的位置為最好. 希望以上的方法能對你挽救你的機器上有點幫助。 本人嘗試調整機器也比較成功，不過調整過程是非常繁瑣的，也是需要耐心的，調整時要注意標好位置，要注意動作不要太大。 |
