| [#5558] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user Hi, Richard. Many thanks for offering the help. We definitely need them. I need to find the "electric wood" as one piece of it is chipped. Do you know where in HK can still find it? My amp is currently using Bosch PIO caps instead of the orignal oil caps but I guess the original ones are OK. And the coupling ones are ERO but not TCC. I need to check the resistors and replace some of them. And I need to take out the transformers and re-seal them. Do you know where I can find a place to do it? | [#5559] Leak Club for Leakies or Leak user YC, There are shops at Reclamation Street, Shanghai Street, etc. Mongkok, which sell acrylic boards and "electric wood". It may however be difficult to find those in black. Try your luck or skills in spraying it black. |

And the coupling ones are ERO but not TCC." If you want, you may try Jensen/Angella 0.25uF/630V instead of the TCC. Insist on the 0.25uF, NOT the 0.22uF, and the "Paper-in-Oil" (PIO) type for coupling. "..I need to check the resistors and replace some of them. " Actually you should change ALL the old resistors even some may still measure correctly by your ohmmeter. You can never know how far these 50 years' old resistors shift in value at real working condition! But if you can keep on checking them and keep alertive all the time, you may continue to use some of them. If you replace, RMG or other carbon film resistors are recommended. Epoxy does not look vintage! r  |
