[#5841] Te Kanawa Dame Kiri Te Kanawa 在 1984 年與 Choir of St Paul Cathedral 和 English Chamber Orchestra 合作,錄了 "Let the Bright Seraphim" 此曲。 ![]() |

[#5843] Hahn trazom: Yes I know that. Hahn actually played the Brahms stunningly well in her HK debut 2 years ago in CH. This is a repeat and should not be missed! |

[#5847] Klemperer reissues again on EMI ? Hi wal, they seem to be all first CD editions. Have you A/B compared any of them with an recent reissue from EMI, say, from the "Great Recordings of the Century" series? |

[#5848] Klemperer reissues again on EMI ? Well, while many (if not all) of the 1st edition CDs are made in (W.) Germany/ England, some of the later ones are from Holland (with the new EMI logo without the Angel). I tried Beethoven No.3 on Legacy and on 1st issue (made in USA), and I tend to like the 1st issue more as it give more presence and dynamics. No. 6 on Legacy sounds the same as on Great Recordings To avoid the perhaps cliché inclination to the 1st edition, I have always find that the EMI sound is often 有點蒙, 有’浸’野隔住 (if you understand what it’s like) – same with those W. Germany CDs. I’ve also come across the Brahms cycle on Great Recordings and 1st Edition, the 1st Symphony on 1st Ed. wins absolutely. The rest … I can’t hear much difference. BTW, the sound quality of Schubert 8 & 9 on 1st Ed. is unfortunately unsatisfactory. However, the Schumann and the Bach are quite fine. Has the Magic Flute been released on this 1st Klemperer Edition? Or there’s just the old edition like the one you have? (I was lucky enough to get perhaps the last Le Nozze in Mongkok!) ![]() |

[#5850] Li Chuanyun I attended his concert last night. He played the Tchaikovsky with complete ease. The encore - "Variation of a theme of Paganini's 24th caprice" by himself may truly reflects his psychological status and his views on "old fashion" classical music. |

[#5854] Li Chuanyun I also attended the concert tonight. He is quite good, but very 'raw' and unrefined. And I had this feeling that he is very much in his own world, not trying to 'communicate' via music. I am not trying to be offensive, but does he suffer from savant syndrome? I watched a documentary on savant syndrome before and it featured a talented jazz pianist on the program. Totally reminded me of Li. |
