china made ! i go to chins eat sea food ,i choose live fish to cook ,it change fish die long time when you eat.,if you buy fi hi.whats inside transfomer ?but late i think the best amp. will be made in china

If you want to modify this Amp to have satify result, I sure the only way is to change the output transformers, Otherwise, you waste money.

Don't waste money la, 8 years ago I bought audio space pre amp and use 5K modify myself.At last 2.5k sold to my friend!!! And if u no satisfy your amp just sell it and bought another one la!

If you would like to keep your LS3/5A, you will need to check the output impediance of your amp. Does it have 16 ohm output tap? I owned a 15 ohm LS3/5A long time ago. I found my LS3/5A only match with amp with 16 ohm output. For connection to 8 ohm, it sounds odd.

If you AS does not have any 16 ohm tap and would like to keep your speaker, don't waste any money on modification. It just wastes your money. Looking for an amp with 16 ohm output should be a better way.

I had some bad experience with Audiotronics 10 years ago. I sent a tube preamp for inspection. They said they had fixed it and charged me $1000. After few days, same problem came out on the pre-amp so I brought it back to them for inspection. They told me the problem is come from the 12AX7 used in my pre-amp. When I came back to home, there is no such tube in my pre-amp. Be careful about those sifu in Hi-Fi shop. Most of them are so so. They have excellent presentation but "?" skill.

If you are not happy with the sound of your amp, it will be better replacing it with another. We do upgrading because we like it and would like to have further improvement but keeping its characteristics. Upgrading is considerable but modification should be very careful. After modification, it is not the original amp. Sound is different and characteristic is different too. Whey do you want to keep "it"? The expense on it is much higher than the cost for replacing another one.

Few years ago, when I was looking for tube amp, one hi fi shop at MK said " You buy a China tube amp within 8k, then, pay me 10K to "摩". It will be better than Jadis's 50k tube amp!!!!" ^o^
Then, turn around go home!
