| [#6196] 英倫再上路 Springroll, Nice day out and lovely to see the male and female group of pheasants having a sun bathing and it's always a joy to see them. It was cloudy earlier but now the sun is out again in Norwich. I should have a walk with wife later which I haven't done for a month!!! After that I surely will enjoy the music. To be more precise I will do a little bit more tubes rolling. I am not sure if I had a mistake though the 12AX7(ECC83) is suitable for the Elekit TU-8500 but some suggest it may have distortion. Most would suggest 12AT7 (ECC81) is a better choice over the standard ECC82(12AU7). Luckily apart those many ECC83 I also have some ECC81 family around which I collect over the years. | [#6201] 英倫再上路 At the moment the Elekit is till in running in process as the seller has not used it after making it. He suggested it may take 2-3 weeks warming up time. All the tubes are also not in use for many years and the tests were all done when they are freshly installed. As such I don't think they are in the optimal condition but I would sau=y is a fair test because they are having the same startup. For now I also prefer CIFTE. Then followed by RCA, Brimar and ITT. CIFTE and RCA are close and they could perform in reverse order if they have more running in time. CIFTE, at the time of testing, seems to get the best vocal emotion from Christ Martin. It could exhibit the regret motion in his tone. The overall performance is smooth and emotional. RCA is slightly ahead with dynamics and soundstage and just a tag less than the CIFTE in terms of the showing the sentiment in his vocal, but very close. In a nutshell I wouldn't mind having them in the Elekit and it means I have plenty of tubes to last. |
