Couple google search said Sherwood 9805 comes with Sherwood MG-2831 Moving Magnet (MM) 頭, output 3.5mv. http://s.productreview.com.au/products/manuals/134446_562992c8bb2ff.pdf If I read the spec right from the Naim web site, the MM gain of the Stageline is 35db which seems very low for MM. https://www.naimaudio.com/product/stageline The 2 combination basically suggested not enough gain, so little sound. Typical MM between 1-3.5mv output needs 44+db gain, 5mv output can go down to 39db. http://ifi-audio.com/wp-content/uploads/data/iPhonoUserGuide_4%20Steps.pdf Cambridge Audio CP2's MC gain is 55db according to AudioAdvisor spec, again that's very low for 0.4mv high output MC. 0.5mv is typical high output mc, so 0.4 is lower and yet the phono stage gain does not reach 60db, so little sound also. http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=CACP2 Here is another spec of a Japanese phono, you can see they give their MM a 45db gain, MC high at 67db and MC low even 71db. | [#6797] 黑膠新手，從何入手? 兩位同一反應都係要keep phono stage 買唱頭，可以理解。不過我不夠班recommend唱頭,不好意思. 其實phono stage 我都唔夠班recommended,只係個人用過經驗,有咁大gain買咁大gain，哈哈! 前兩年返香港時,買咗部又平又細的ifi phono, 唔一定話好聲,但 gain 夠多, 找部類似大gain phono返泥試試再算下一部吧師兄.... 至於用MC頭當然可以考慮用個step up transformer 入mm phono 唱放⋯ |

First version - iFi iPhono can give you 40db or 46db gain for MM cartridge and 60db or 66db gain for MC cartridge. Latest version - iFi iPhone2 can give you 36db or 48db gain for MM cartridge and 60db or 72db gain for MC cartridge. |

| [#6802] 黑膠新手，從何入手? 上次曾經以 Ayre phono vs iphono, 高音樂感竟然是 iphono 較佳，但感覺是略有沙石，但以價論聲，十分合理。 BPS 是非常理智的 phono, 細節清晰，但典型的德、瑞風格，並不煽情。朋友有用9V LPS 供電，個人感覺是大體風格並沒有大改變，他是用了多年後改玩 FM 了，唱頭一直都是 Clearaudio Statement 系列。 我也希望大家多介紹 phono amp, 畢竟脫節太久了 |
