[#65] iTransport from Wadia eric hing: The original power adapter that comes with iTransport is a Switching Power Adapter (output: 12V, 2 Amps). But the dc power plug that inserts into the iTransport power socket is a special-made connector/jack with pull-back spring release. I try to search it on rshongkong.com but still cannot find the name of the connector. Any c-hing can suggest where to buy a good hi-fi grade AC-to-DC transformer (output: 12V with 5Amp)? I think it is preferred to increase it to 5A from the original 2A to give more power output capacity to feed the iTransport. Thanks...

[#68] iTransport from Wadia From the manual, it does not mention whether it is compatible to iPod Photo. According to the manual, the supported oldest iPod is iPod Video.

[#70] iTransport from Wadia Has anyone compared iTransport to Krell KID? ![]()

[#71] iTransport from Wadia Well Krell is taking the analog out of iPOD. While iTransport from Wadia can get the digital out of iPOD and use it with external DAC. So Krell is limited by how good the built-in iPOD DAC is.

[#72] iTransport from Wadia Thanks clip for your reply. By the way, does your iTransport come with dock insert for iPod Touch?

[#73] iTransport from Wadia So why is the Krell so expensive?

[#74] iTransport from Wadia In the iTransport package, it comes with 5 nos. dock inserts for iPod Touch, iPod nano, iPod classic, etc. I am using iPod Touch which has 8GB flash memory. For a song in WAV format, it takes up about 40MB. So, 1GB memory is only enough for 25 songs. I reckon that the sonic performance of iTransport + iPod Touch with WAV files is so good, even compared to expensive CDP in the HK$50K category. The analytical details and also soundstage are very impressive. Still need to test its capability on bass (maybe the switching power adapter of 12V 2A needs to be upgraded to give more power/current to iTransport for good bass) I have not tried the iTransport with iPod Classic which contains harddisk with memory of upto 160GB. I guess harddisk with mechanical movements would not give the same good performance as flash memory. Just guessing though! First of all, need to get over the burn-in period. :p

[#76] iTransport from Wadia I do not have a Wadia CDP. The remote control units of my CDP and preamp cannot control the itransport. No surprise. :p

[#77] iTransport from Wadia "So why is the Krell so expensive?" Like many other iPod products, they use analog out. Most people believe that iPod digital out is not possible. Now it is obsolete technology for audiophile. Krell, like most of the expensive brands, price it base on their brand name, not the design or quality.

[#78] iTransport from Wadia ericleung, have you solved your problem of the click sound when pressing forward and backward?

[#79] iTransport from Wadia cmyipp2, Pls check PM, john323, pls checck PM, I don't think the connector is difficult to find. You do not need to make the power supply to 5A. the original power supply rating is 2A and I believe that the iTransport should use less than 1.2A. The problem is how to make a good power suppply. vt75, I saw some information from Internat (with no proof) said the Wadia cannot sell the iTransport more than US400 because Wadia signed a contract with Apple. Otherwise, Apple would not release the digital information to Wadia. It sound logical, bacause wants to sell mote iPods. Like me, I bought the iTransport and then I bought a 32G iPod Touch.
