.......你擁有過咁多 AR，邊對係最愛？.......

That's a good question and tough one to answer.

My first Acoustic Research was the 98LS. However, after a while it suffered the normal fate with most AR speakers, the foam was perishing.

At that time I didn't know anyone who could fix it. Then I started researching on YouTube and took the courage by ordering some new foams and did the repairing myself.

It wasn't the last time I did the repair like that as almost every pair I bought would need refoamig.

I had fond memory of the 98LS.

My second pair would be the AR25.

The AR25 was pretty much underrated in my opinion.

Then I had the AR915 which I bought for £30 because of the foam problems, again.

I should have kept it but a friend loved it and I already had the 98LS, another big 11" big speakers.

It should be the one ........

Then I had the AR7......I can't even remember how long did I have it...strange

Then my first of many AR4X and 4Xa.....

This one has the caps replaced by myself.

This actual 4Xa has now in the hand of one AR member.........

Being AR user you got to have the classic AR18, which model will be of your choice.

Having very big AR and I now went the other way...........the smallest AR1ms!!!!

Another small AR and this is the M .5. I guess it sits between 1Ms and M1.

Then I am back with flooring standing AR's.

I had owned around 5 pairs of AR94 and I am really fond of them.

As you may know I kept a pair up until last month or so.

Within the AR users, there may be 4 models one would love to own them. The are the AR1 which using Western Electric 755A units, AR3a, LST and AR9.

I love a AR9 but I had only seen one in real life once and they sound fab. I have never seen one for sale in the UK as I guess the house in the UK wouldn't be able to house them.

Then AR93 shares the side firing woofers like the AR9. It was like a little brother to the AR9 and I was very eager to own a apir and I finally did.

Another AR speaker hard to get is the LST which was being used by Royal Opera House (Covent Garden).

Again, I may have seen once or twice for sale but it's just too expensive!!! £1700+++!!!

I think Mark Levinson used two LST stacked together to create Amati. I believe Haha used to own them and he could tell us more.

That said there are the MST which is a baby and cheaper version of the LST and is much more affordable. I had three pairs in the past and I did stack two together to replicate the Amati.

I regret giving away the AR915 so when I saw this AR91 I thought it may bring back the sweet memory I had.

But it didn't. Having said that it was performing well but just not the same as 915.

Then I bought AR28S and AR38S because they are cheap found in car boots sale.

The most expensive AR speakers I ever paid for and it is the 10pi.

Brilliant speakers, the best in class so I suppose it will be the one I would prefer if I must.

But I have to say all AR speakers are excellent in their own right, no matter how small and old they are.

Oh!! I nearly forgot I still have some active AR speakers in the shed and of course the M1 recently put to match with the BEARD P35.
