Yeah, I heard about that. It's sad but it's a personal choice as long as you don't offend the neighbours by much.

Personally I am not allowed to cut the lawn too much. There will be areas that I won't be allowed to touch then. It's by order to let the grass be overgrown and leave the wild flowers to flourish in our front and back garden.

It's mainly my wife' idea to let them grow to supply food chain to the bees and insects. We have lost so much woodland and meadows in the wild that we see the population of bees and insects in much decline.

We used to get many bugs hitting our windscreen everyday and felt quite annoyed by it. Now, we hardly have this issue and you may think that's great saving time to clean the cars.

The reality is very alarming.

In fact it's so worrying that our local farmer has donated his farmland to the local council that the land will be farmed all crops, wild flowers and seeds plants to allow the wildlife to feed on them. It's hoped that it will spread the message across the society to raise the awareness.

So true. Back in May, I was so glad there were still a lot a lot of bees flying all over around the tree in my back yard when it was blossoming. And my kids enjoyed this beautiful yet lively scene! Indeed those bees are friendly enough as long as no sudden strike against them. I could still walk around my back yard to do my gardening work as usual, though I urged my kids shut their bedrooms" windows and not to play balls at the back yard for few weeks. It's not a big deal indeed.

I always tell my kids we are sharing the nature creature's home, and we are neighbour with them now. Do respect our neighbour and co-live nicely. Then you'll find the joy and appreciate the life along side with the nature here.

And, recommend the spider catcher which I think it is the best tool here in my house for our friends. ;)
