| [#1017] Linn club ............ I am considering Linn Majik Isobarik and Akurate 242 speakers. Main concern is to spend so much on A242 which is essentially a 7 year old model. Majik Isobarik is fairly new but when I auditioned the 2k array highs were not as nice as my current speaker (B&W Nautilus 804). Has anyone spent time comparing these two speakers? Source/Pre/Amp is Majik DSM but will upgrade power amps later after I decide on speakers. Other speakers I am considering are B&W 804 Diamond, Vivid V1.5 (will need subwoofer). If I can't decide in next 2 months, I may just buy Majik 140 because it is not so expensive and buy a 6100 to go aktiv while I try to make up my mind. Thoughts? |

| [#1019] Linn club ............ 1 box of 6100 not enough to drive Majik 140 to aktiv. However, you can re-use your Akurate 2200 or existing MDSM to drive the bass, then totally you will have 8 channels. But don't know dealer will give you all 8 set of aktiv card for free because you just buy 1 M6100 only. |

| [#1021] Linn club ............ I don't think so because 8 set of aktiv card only contribute 50% of M2100 cost. Could you buy a new M2100 with less than $20,000 for hong goods? Btw, majik 140 also is 2K drive array which is same as isobarik. Have listened to Kilmax 350A with Kilmax DSM in hi fi show, it is spectacular. | [#1025] Linn club ............ what can you do with 8 sets of Aktiv card if you don't have the power amp for it? It needs to open up the amp and install inside, as well as open up the speaker to take out some cross over cable, and all of these work is highly preferably done by a reseller. Therefore, it is likely to get done at the same time. i.e. getting the right amp with the exact Aktiv cards plus installaion. |

| [#1027] Linn club ............ x100 or x200 W per driving unit in your speaker for sure have enough current, e.g 448W (at 8 om) for majik power amp or 800+W for Akurate amp, based on Majik 140 as example. | [#1029] Linn club ............ for my system abroad i have miso+a2200/1+mdsm with aktiv bass (a2200 with bass aktiv card). this system is not yet hooked up yet just waiting in boxes for my apt to be ready. for my hk system i got the adsm but need to buy amp next over the next few weeks. speaker is still b&w n804 but i am looking to upgrade in 1-2 months. |
