Used to own some MG 15 and 12 but after losing my hearing I was so lost and upset and stupid that I sold them all!!!

I was always fond of the sound coming out from Audio Note OTO SE with Tannoy Chatsworth.

Now the prices of Tannoy DC speakers have gone through the roof and I thought I would never be able to afford Tannoy DC any more.

Recently I saw a pair of LSU/HF/3LZG/8U which is so bashed and ugly that the price has come down quite a lot.

Box is ugly and grill is torn but at least the DC units are good with original crossovers so i bite the bullets and bought it.

Sometimes there is nothing wrong with the old saying, like the Chinese with something like that, as if the wooden door is against the wooden door, and the bamboo door is against the bamboo door.

Or in simple English, horses for courses.

The dilapidated Tannoy MG10 really needs to be paired with the more dilapidated NAD 3920B to get the best out of it!

Paired with MG 10 before with Onkyo Power-Pre Combo, Onkyo adding MF Pre, Audiolab 8000A, Yamaha AX-520, but in the end it turned out that the most best match was NAD!

That kind of daring smoothness, coupled with that low frequency really feels like the elders say that it is floating towards you in waves and you can almost touch it!!

This feeling is the same when I used Audionote OTO to push MG 15 some years back!

I know from the net that even though it's only 10" but it better the MG 10 with a much bigger box, especially smooth bass.

Many suggest the size of the Kensington which also houses 10" DC unit. I will look for information if this easy to carry out.

For the time I will enjoy the small box which already performs well.

My journey with Tannoy DC Speakers is really like Joni's "The CIrcle Game".

It's going round and round again in a circle game, having owned MG 15" Lancaster and 12" Chatsworth before.

Then the another journey with making a new extended box for this pair of MG 10" which many may deem not quite up there with the bigger brothers.

I think it could only be fair to say bigger the better with Tannoy DC.

The argument could then go on and go on with some say Gold is not as good as Red. Then, some will say both Gold and Red get no where near Silver.

Another guy from the next table then say "What about Black?"

Ha, ha......

At this stage of my stereo experience they all sound the same to me. The only difference is what music they are playing in front of me.
