| [#107] DIY 的樂趣 Actually people are far more lucky these days. Through the internet, they can source products from everywhere. For kits, those can now be bought in China are really 平靚至. The problem is only that people nowadays are more interested in spending time, money and energy in finding what cable produces what sound. |

You can find good stuff even better than today's technology sometimes. All DIY brothers, I cannot keep laughing (happy ma!) while I am reading all yr experience. I think I am the only serious crazy guy all the time but actually I am not alone. All the places and component shops you memtioned I also know. 美聲、通用(荃灣)、新峰(鴨記)、華聲車仔(鴨記)、寶樹(中環&油麻地)、東京電子(東京張,阿Yuen(鴨記), 域高(太子), 精密(first shop to sell HiFi component, FET and cases) and 無線電世界-讀者服務部 a lot in HK. I went all there to see. I stay at a Kwun Tong 永安電子 everyday after school (age 12). I learn a lot there. Old master teach me to BBQ old KT88 tube to turn white body back to mercury to bring it back younger. It is still a magic to me. "cds" component is a magic toy to me at that time. There must be a little ST32 (1.2k:8Ω) transformer before the speaker for all 9V battery DIY projects. My son is now 12 and I am teaching him to do also that kind of DIY. But he is lucky, he can use Op-amp sometimes. |
