FOCAL should really seek R33 to delete this thread if they are willing to surpass other labels in terms of sales figure, otherwise they will keep supplying their proprietary OEM tweeter units to WILSON AUDIO for the forthcoming years......

This is the best display of anti-promoting a speaker brandname which has sonic potential indeed....for listening sound effect.

there must be business synergy and technical reasons in between Wilson & Focal .

1st Rate or 2nd Rate of any parts within a whole product, if only judged by the value or material used... , that's not a right statement at all, if it is without any data or even supporting by some sort subjective view

it is fun to debate..but when we debate..it is always better to have/prepare more supporting data. good & bad debate are everywhere, which give people inspiration and learning in many sense

Funny thread, those debate which give me some inspiration, learning and making new friends ..haha

how's about from you guys, does u all get anything from those debate?

At least we should all be happy, as R33 seem to be a platform with a bit of freedom to speech, a platform for me to make some extra income, make new friend and learn new things and kill some time.. hahahaha Wish R33 can generate some profit, as running a high traffic web site may not necessarily making any $ sense

The most classic example of OEM manufacturer withdrawal is KEF, not to mention the termination of supplying units drivers for other Ls3/5a manufacturers (HARBETH, Spendor, Chartwell) in another instance.

Another instance happened when KEF withdrew supplying their propreitary and renowned passive radiator, KEF B139 units, Sunndenly Sonus Faber had to suspend the production of highly acclaimed EXTREMA and Wilson Audio gonna stop the prouction line of WAMM.

Porbably CPU should suggest his French boss not to render OEM service anymore to Wilson Audio...

Which label die and declare bankruptcy first?

The express path to eliminate Wilson Audio

Stop supplying any driver unit to Wilson Audio...KEF did it once and since then Dave Wilson gonna killed the production line of WAMM series, but Wilson still exists and grows, KEF almost submerged to low-end or mid-end label several years ago.

Is this a curse? quite probably!

killing time in R33 is a common thing to do here. Come to think of it, it is better to spend this time in listening to music than keep putting thoughts into typing to R33 thread but without actually being constructive in anyway.

Indeed debating takes energy out of people so I think I rather go spend my time in listening to music that I like, it is for sure far better than receive some unwelcome noise on the thread.

Have a nice weekend. And, thanks for the prompt regardng "do we get anything out of a debate". I appreciate this very much.

for the wilson wamm VII..i had some email to wilson audio a few weeks ago, amazing they still having healthy stock for those KEF driver for the Wamm VII, however not any more for the 18" BAss units..

I am impressed by that level of service from Wilson, and very responsive too (but it is of coz costly)

Debate does drain off some energy from us, haha hey..enjoy our sunday..haha i shall back to my workshop and run some test

Wamm VII...still on step ahead in term of Functional design aspect. Amazing speaker design Vision

kef downfall has nothing to do with selling limited numbers of drivers to wilson audio in the past.

the bass drivers used in wamm already long in the tooth. new drivers surpass those thats why dave wilson dropped them.

magico makes their own drivers. not just repackaging someone's drivers into so called exotic material cabinets.

also magico has no reported cracked cabinets with posts deleted from audiogon asylum or r33.

I have not bought a pair of speakers for home use for 15 years or more prior, but just because I do not read R33 until the last couple of years and does it mean new comers to R33 like me are ignorant?? This is what you implied. I am not aware of cracked cabinet, so you insulted me for being ignorant and I guess this is your usual style of character.. I do not know the story but I am sure any responsible supplier will replace the damage unit immediately. You ,cpu8088, do not go and tell me I am ignorant just because I am not aware of some isolated incident.

You are trying to convince people like me to to buy a pair of Focal? I do not think you are doing a very good job. Your hard selling does not work based on what you supplied information and attitude towards people in general and I regret to say that but this is true.

When I repeatedly ask you whether or not you own a Foca/JM Lab at home, and whether you are in anyway work for or closely associated with Focal You answer is total silence. It is not very convincing isn't it?

I did ask you to start up a new thread on Focal and why didn't you use that to show your qualification, and to demonstrate to people your hard sell Focal is fully supported by your own investment in Focal products, instead, you had been insulting people's intelligent. If you do not even own Focal/JM Lab, I hope you keep the product information to yourself, we will find it elesewhere rather than from you.

It appeared Wilson pops up from time to time in the thread because I bother to ask question outside R33 and better my knowledge to this product. There is a short list of speakers I like to choose before final decision. I am sorry, you have ruined JM Lab / Focal chance to sell me a pair of latest model Grand Utopia because you turn me right off with your strange behaviour. If there is a pair os speaker which is equal to the Grand Utopia in performance, I still would not buy the Focal from the very bad experience I had here.

BTW, studio monitor using Grand Utopia is not a good idea because at close field monitoring, the speakers are too large, too tall for its own good. So you suggestion about using Grand as a studio monitor is wrong. I am sure there are far better and better designed studio monitors available than the Grand which is for domestic use.

VPO is renowned for its high autonomy and professional performance, if Wilson speaker really sounds poor with goosebump in mid-bass, probably those VPO players have sought to discard WP8 or Sasha collectively.

Does the VPO archiv room already change their monitor as FOCAL Utopia ? Please enlighten me unless and until you can prove....

At least these players listen to recorded music and their live recording archiv, they seldom listen sound effect as high as ultrasonic frequency.

Probably Grand Utopia can make you feel good if you are picky about high or other sound effect up to ultrasonic frequency which only bat can capture. For music lovers, there is a better options which overtakes Utopia massively, such as The Sonus Faber (FENICE), MAGICO Q5

What an anti-climax! The high-end FOCAL also turns me off because of CPU low-end, self-contradictory and clumsy hardselling, what a pity!

Should Dave Wilson read this thread, he probably laugh endlessly because of this CPU. Simply say "thank you, Mr CPU, I can sell more "defective" speaker with goosebump and cracked cabinet! Also FOCAL would continue supplying me their OEM tweeter, I have better bargaining power than before to cut their price."

KA KA KA......Just my imagination (inspired by CPU")!
