Haha I read most of your past post with your creation haha I add the side weight is for counter act the increased anticlockwise tendency when using heavy cartridge with the sme arm which designed for light weight cartridge... And it works... Haha high is higher.. Bass is tigher... Haha For the arm tube.. I wish to alter the tone.. Haha.. And it is haha For the back copper counter weight sleeve.. For look, for adding weight... And wish to alter the tone.. Haha .. Does it alter the tone.. No idea.. But I can use heavy weight MC now . | [#106] Cheap turntable appreciation haha i forget how's the original sound.. but from memory it was really quite nice ...rich......... haha fun things to share, after playing around some wood with SME arm..... when i listen to some drum track it is much easier to tell the relative positions of the Cymbal...hi hat and the bass drum..etc.. i guess it mainly due to the added side weight |

| [#108] Cheap turntable appreciation haha For fun Haha... I have some magnetic field mearuement apps I take mearuement here and there.. On th e platter for a few DD and a belt drive.. And the lenco, to check rather it is strong magnetic field presents at the surface of the platter which may affect cartridge preformance... If it is.. Strong enough.. It will affect A few finding.. Worth to share Let's say... The room surrounding is around 35ut At the top of the proac speaker.. It is 250ut At the top of the thorens td126 belt drive.. It was same as the surrounding.. So it is good At the lenco.. At right hand side of the platter.. Ie the cartridge contact area.. It was also around 35ut At the left hand side.. Of the lenco platter.. Above the motor sitting... It was about 76ut At above the micro seiki DD7... Omg.. It is 220ut At above the kenwood.. One side is 35ut.. One side... Is 95ut.... Haha Which lead me to wonder.. Soemthing can be done... Then I think of making a MU metal thin sheet record mat... Haha.. I find those material at Round 0.3 mm thick at cost about rmb120.. So I can cut one myself... Why 0.3mm..but not 0.1..etc..or 0.5.... Haha.. From guess.. Thickness I can cut nice.. And still feel cheap.. Lol There are always.. Was always someone may had the same idea or did the same thing.. I google it... It is... Haha.. But I did not read too much of the sharing yet... It will reduce the residue magnetic field by using a mu metal mat.. But is 0.3mm..etc..enough..etc....but by how much... Haha no ideA For spending rmb120.. Worth to try.. Haha... Little things I can do.. By physics..in principle.. Things will be better.. Haha We build a tower by trillion of sands.... A good system also.. Demand... 1000...little things to be done to get there too... Haha I beleive...... Haha... Most important..
