Excellent balance between realistic and comfortable, actually best I've ever heard. Sound is not forward, slightly laid back, near the plane of speakers, but very high density, almost like a life person singing. Before I only heard such flesh-and-blood yet comfortable performance was through Clearaudio turntable playing Norah Jones LP. |

The Emm Labs is much more musical than Esoteric. Esoteric is too plain and bore. The resolution of Emm Labs is already very high but is not as high as Esoteric. |

| [#41] 買五萬到八萬cd機sacd i agree one of the c hing here that emmlabs is one of the most balanced players of most popular brands commonly found in hk. i personally went to audited luxman, acoustic arts, esoteric, mark, mcintosh, burmester and playback. and i previously owned audia and metronome. i would say emmlabs is the most balanced player out of my limited audition experience. |

Besides Orpheus, Audio Aero and Cambridge (840C only) also using Anagram DAC (different level and price range of course). From the sound of Audio Aero, I would describe the sound as natural, slightly laid back, with rich, realistic timbre. Great stuff. |

| [#37] 買五萬到八萬cd機sacd Oh I see, we use the same gear! For the past few years, I have auditioned almost all mainstream and Hi-End DACs in the market. I would say "Orpheus One" is definitely one of the best solidstate DAC under $100K, provided in the right setup. BTW, you cannot compare the CD8 to Orpheus this way. Once the CD8 is used solely as a transport, the magic is lost. The CD8 has to be used as one piece, just like most one box CD players. CD8 transport section is used in both cases. of course, digital cable contributes to sound signature to certain extent. btw, i am using Orpheus DAC One SE and find it quite good. but has not compare to other CDP or DAC. |

| [#35] 買五萬到八萬cd機sacd Brother bambino, you asked about the "sonic difference between CD8 internal DAC vs Orpheus one DAC". In reality, there is no way to compare them directly. The ARC CD8 has no digital input available so it cannot be used as a stand alone DAC. In the end, we are comparing a one box CD player to a Separate DAC+ Transport Combo, as in my case Mark 31.5 + Orpheus One + Zero digital cable. Overall speaking, I would say the 31.5 + Orpheus combo wins.
