The Fletcher Munson curve stipulates we perceive less bass and treble when at low volume.
And that impacts on the weight/ authority of the bass, and makes thr soundstage collapse.

Would your friend consider an equalizer?

Example, 朋友用 Diablo 300 推 803 D3, 只是 ok, 之後 upgrade 上老墨 611 x 2，一天光曬丶有厚度有音場有動態丶男聲喉㡳出返
BW 好大食！！！又 BW 好受 biwire, 但不會厚左丶只音場靚左．

玩老墨石機最好最好有 output transformer 。
Power 就多（係多餘）100w 好過細。老墨如剛剛夠丶爆吾起丶低音／厚度會弱
新款通過舊丶dynamic 也好點丶如 452 vs 462.

以前用過801S3一段長時間，當年效果最理想的setup是加入Krell KBX 玩電子分音，現代應該是玩digital DSP crossover的時候了！

SPL active analog crossover is an option.
Very nicely made, but expensive.

DBX active crossover, pro audio choice and quite budget friendly.
I am using it and it serves the purpose.

#14 Michael, Yes, it's feasible and probably the best way to achieve the goal. Below pics shown two options, 1. MiniDSP flex digital is more common and easy to play with. 2. More professional approach;by using NI/LabView and digital audio chassis PXI as shown in the lower pics.

最重要是力，當年用 ksa250 推 801
之後加 Krell eq (special design for BW), 都幾好玩丶但當年每對 straight wire 只USD300, 而家加兩對線都吾平丶
不如放＄在 power amp.
又 805 年代加十仔丶低音是有了丶但要一對才好正。同時因手上有大 Krell, 都係用大 Krell 推感覺較好丶尤奇是音埸丶dynamic....
一日後用大 Krell 推 801 丶氣勢勁贏 805 加十仔丶當年學識丶喇叭盡大丶amp 也是要有實力 amp, 吾可以攰！！！

#18 Michael, another option from MiniDSP with eight aes/ebu io. Not sure if it is still available.

#16, 師兄太相信大力出奇跡了，玩800系列或JBL4000系列不會用太弱的power amp是嗎？除power之外，重點係需要room EQ correction/treatment, phase/time alignment.....等，現代的DSP digital crossover都輕易做到！
