| [#5] DALI 喇叭 How much was Helicon 400 Mk2? 2.5 yrs ago, they were 34k. I agree there is a personal taste element in audio, so you have to listen and compare for yourself. I was having a tough decision between Linn 242 and D28. After I've auditioned the MBL 101e, nothing matter anymore, so I've bought the D28. |

| [#11] DALI 喇叭 In my experience with Euphonia MS4 & MS5, Dali speakers on the whole sound quite balanced but not outstanding. They are also not easy to drive, perhaps because of the complex 3~4 ways crossover. I wouldn't consider buying them at new price. |

| [#12] DALI 喇叭 I used to have MS4, and had chosen it over comparably priced (or maybe slightly higher priced) JM Lab, B&W, etc. I personally find this brand to be quite under-rated in HK, considering their high build and parts quality, design as well as sound. Quite well balanced in tone and quite musical. The downside of this brand is that because it is under-rated, resale value is quite bad, particularly for big speakers like MS4 and MS5. |

My experience with Helicon 400mk2 when asked to demo in Alan Lee's shop in Central (the shop closed now), driven by a TacT S2150 sound thin and too bright to my taste. Alan Lee did said its because of the amp is not powerful enough and cannot control them well, but not the speakers problem. As a consumer and TacT user, of course I am not going to lay my $ for sub-standard performance. No brianer decision. |

| [#15] DALI 喇叭 嚦嚦二世, you sold yours at around 20k, I sold mine as a trade in, and the price I got was... sigh.... too sad to mention. When I bought mine, I heard them at the upstair AV shop in Central, driven by TACT. I also did not fall in love with the sound. I actually liked them better when the room eq was switched out. The frequency response was less flat but it was more musical. The good thing was that I started wanting the Dalis when I heard the Helicon Mk.I at Hifi Gallery driven by McIntosh. When I heard the MS4 at the shop in Central, although I did not like the system's overall sound as much, I did hear the better qualities of MS4 vs the similar but lesser built Helicons. As the shop gave me a deal not much more expensive than the quote I got for the Helicon elsewhere, I bought the MS4 to replace my Avalon Monitors then. |

| [#17] DALI 喇叭 I borrowed my friend's Magnepan 1.6 to play 2 months ago, & compared them side-by-side in my system with MS5. The results were quite shocking; the cheaper 1.6 was better in treble extension, imaging, soundstaging & especially speed than my MS5. MS5 only won in bass extension but not speed, I was so impressed with the panel speaker that I sold the MS5 right away. | [#18] DALI 喇叭 嚦嚦二世Hing, Such is the magic of panel speakers. Given the right environment and set-up, conventional speakers (including good ones) easily get beaten, particularly if bass (mostly the amount of it) is ignored. BTW, an odd bird that tries to get the best of both worlds is the Jamo R907/R909. Admittedly, it is quite successful at that, particularly considering the price. However, I ultimately did not buy them because they were a bit huge for my room, and ended up getting Sophia2. |

| [#19] DALI 喇叭 Those open-baffle Jamos are supposed to be very tricky when it comes to positioning, a luxury most HK domestic environment cannot afford.
