| [#1] Octave v40 vs Luxman LX-380 Hi, all: I am choosing between Octave v40 and Luxman Lx-380. I have already spent quite a bit of time listening to Octave. While the Octave sounds very good, it appears to me that the amplifier lacks some tube amplifier characteristics (not very warm). Other that this, I must say that I like Octave a lot. Your opinions on these two amps are highly appreciated. Thanks in advance |

| [#3] Octave v40 vs Luxman LX-380 Octave or luxman? It depends on the gears of the whole system which you matched. If you wanna make V40 sound warmer, do try tube rolling! Mullard, Fivre are good choices if you can find matched quad set. For Lx380, there are also 3 pieces Ecc82. It is easily to roll the tubes to alter the sound. It is FUN. |
