| [#1] help! speaker booming - too close 後牆 My speaker has to put too close 後牆 (no choice), it's not enough 1 feet. I hv try to put the stuff inside the back hole of the speaker, but the sounds bad. So, i'm thinking to put a piece of 吸音綿 on the wall behind each speaker. Does it work? Pls advise! I don't have any experience. |

| [#2] help! speaker booming - too close 後牆 Can you share what amp, spk and cable you are using? FYI my ex appartment is very small and spk is placed 3" in front back wall but no boom at all. Because some time boom is due to the amp cannot control the spk well. |

| [#3] help! speaker booming - too close 後牆 Well, I hv no choice to put the spk too close to the wall, it's only becoz that my family member always walk through that area. u know... don't ask me y la. Anyway, the length between 2 spk has 4.5 feets and my seat facing those has around 5~6 feets. Behind my seat that has around 9 feets area. But only 9 inchs between the back of spk and the rear wall. So, once i turn the volume louder, it's start mess and boom. My spk is quad 12l2. I would try 吸音綿 in behind, but i just wonder any tips n trick since i am newbie. So, if u guys give me some advise that could save me some times ma. |

| [#5] help! speaker booming - too close 後牆 吸音綿 just absort Mid & Hi range so the boom issue is even more serious!! BTW what amp you use? Also Quad? Tube or SS? Do you put spikes under the speaker? Speaker is floor stand or book shelf with stand or without? You know there are a lot of possibility to cause boom!! |

| [#6] help! speaker booming - too close 後牆 rat2 C-Hing, I tried hanging a couple pieces of carpet behind my ProAc Tablette 8 Ref. The carpets are 2ft x 3ft each. It worked ok. I hang them up using 3M plastic hooks. Try to get carpets with longer hair, it works better with lower frequency. Short hair works better with high frequency. |

| [#8] help! speaker booming - too close 後牆 Booming is usually caused by parallel hard surface wall or ceiling with hard floor. The sound especially low frequency will reflect between and interfere the coming sound from the speakers. Suggest to absorb the sound behind the listener, and at both side of the walls( eg. placing tall book cabinets sofer and the like. A large carpet between speakers will definitly help. Speakers MUST move away from the back wall(at least 1/4 of the length of the room). I always suggest to my friends to move the speakers out when listening to music and move back after listening. It will only take you 2 minutes to do the job, but the quality of sound will improve a lot. |

I 'm using speaker stand n spike under the stand, But I can't move the speaker every time listen music, because the floor r not flat. (my house is renting) So, if every time i moved , i need to adjust the height of spike. Anyway, i hv try to stick the 金字塔吸音綿 50cmX50cm(7.5cm thick) to the wall behind the back of each speaker. It's sounds really different. Not mess anymore, booming improved, treble mid n bass r more clean n out by their own, sound like a bit tune up some gain or i should use the word hard, the bass r more tight but still strong, sound more dry, slightly dark n compressed. I don;t know it's good sound or not, but it's seen more suit my taste, just a bit over. So, i am going to order a 5cm thick 吸音綿 to see see that would it in between. |

I think put the 吸音綿 @ the rear wall to reduce the reflection is the way i am going to try, just depand how much 吸音綿 i put... or should i put something else? the aim is to reduce the reflection or slow down... since it's only 9 inch gap between the rear wall. I hv slightly toe in the spk... my righthand side has a big 窗台, left hand side and behind the sofa has many many space. ... Btw, i am using quad 606 and cambridge cd |
