[#2171] Quad ESL speaker CP, Is the white cover Lp supposed to be a superior pressing than the red cover? I saw it once in eBay. Dear Patrick and CP, I am trying on the 1/6 position learnt from the current Audio Cite Nov issue. Not a bad idea to start with. Will extend the 1/6 and 1/4 idea for the long side of the room later. It was fun but a it rushing to introduce the antique tea to you and DJ today. Frankly, it would take a more and dedicated relaxing session to fully appreciate the antique tea.

There are only One Thing Audio in UK, German Quad GmBH and may be Sheldon Stoke in the US who are willing to repair Quad ESL! Hon |

[#2175] Quad ESL speaker Today, I woke up and had a sudden feeling that I'm missing something. After ingesting some cheap tea to wake me up, I surfed the net and, HO! Yes, dkyyu has a gathering that I forgot about! And so I rushed out and spent a few worthwhile hours in dkyyu's place! My second visit. The TT arm had been upgraded to EKOS, and the cartridge too! The VT75 are in place. Of course, the major difference is the new pair of OTA ESL57. There is no doubt things are even more dynamic. But I think there is a degree of tighteness no doubt due to the newness of the OTA. With time, things would surely reach new heights. The array of LPs played made it a fun party. But I think I've some surprises up my sleeve for Dennis. I really love Dennis' genuine nature and sincerity. We had an excellent conversation. Although I may not agree with everything Dennis said, I am really moved by his "motherly" nature and the care he so naturally exhibits for his friends. 更大的幸福還在後面!!! 真不知怎之峸e, 那陳年絕響普洱! 太幸福了! 如果可以選擇家庭的話,毫無疑問, ESL 是首選! 多謝, 有一天我肯定是其中一員!

[#2176] Quad ESL speaker I attended a tutorial on "tea-do" with a few dear friends at Dennis' yesterday. We behaved pretty well this time and were treated with a tasting session by Profession Tea which must have cost a few thousand bucks. It is just amazing how the Pu-Erh, which was made about the same year as I was made, escalated in value as well as in social status by just sitting there without doing anything whilst I work hard everyday but remain decadent all these years. The quality of these vintage Pu-Erh which has reached a rating of "a spring under the tongue" is actually not that difficult to appreciate and I was fascinated how the taste changed every minute with different rinsing. I enjoyed so much that at the end I had both "a spring under the tongue" and "a spring under the pants". Quite as what Dennis said, the aroma of the tea stayed in the mouth for as long as you want albeit I had a quick seep of a mocha before a concert in the evening. I like the taste so much that I dont want to rinse it away with the Listerine. Thanks Dennis for the lesson, the tea, the takeaways and the beautiful chinese music that go with them. For the next tea party, I'll bring my mug.

[#2179] Quad ESL speaker drinking vintage Pu-Erh with a mug is border lined on being blasphemy _____________________________________________________________________________ drwkng, That's not only a blasphemy, that will be an anathema. But the mug is for takeaway. Don't know whether microwaving the tea like herbal medicine would damage the taste, any idea?

[#2180] Quad ESL speaker Don't know whether microwaving the tea like herbal medicine would damage the taste, any idea? --------------------------------------------------- i don't use microwave to heat anything that i put into my mouth. it is only used to heat up plates :-). if you are interested in this, look up Dr. Hans Ulrich Hertel. this swiss guy did some interesting research. well, cost him a fortune for publishing his research results though. enough said.

[#2181] Quad ESL speaker CP and DJ, I share same observation from DJ that the treble is a bit tight from the OTA relative to my last original pair. I understand the OTA treble panel, OTEC, is a completely new design by OTA's own engineer claiming with better frequency response. Frankly, the difference or the tightness is rather subtle to me and I guess I shall continue to monitor the progress until one full year burn-in period. I recall Powercord had once suggested before, the new OTA panel sounds 90% same as the original from beginning but needs a year to fully burn in for 100% target performance. ESL are almost 100% hand built though with cheap material. I always feel like touching a master piece of hand craftsmanshsip and hearing a live music instruments everytime when being with the ESL. Please click to the following OTA web-site for more on their OTEC panel: http://www.onethingaudio.com/OTA/9152-OTA-MAIN.htm

[#2182] Quad ESL speaker DJ, >Sleeping in 溫泉區 these days?? The infamous Fei Keung is back in town. He's sleeping in Shenzhen massage parlours, primarily legit ones. However, every now and then he gets bored and feels compelled to visit hanky panky ones --- nothing too heavy duty. 幸福?
