| [#2624] ESL57 ~ Thursday party As a father, I can feel from my bottom heart you are so proud of your sons :-) __________________________________________________________________________________ Gingers, As you know, I often brag humbly and am quite good at this oxymoron. But I didn't look at the performance as a father, albeit I have to confess it is sometimes difficult to alienate the fatherly concern. Hey, the showpiece is Popper's Hungarian Rhapsody, my son played at 170 at the practices and the orchestra couldn't catch up. Last night he was playing at 190 with the best harmony from the orchestra, though you would expect the strings and brass from an amateur secondary school orchestra would be pretty dry despite they are the champion in interschool. Yet even members of the orchestra were enjoying the playing. |

The problem is quite obviously impedance matching as all Vxx use 600 ohm input transformer. Not sure what you have done recently but apparently the output impedance is not working at around 30~60 ohm. |

They were originally wired for 4 ohm for my Klipsch. ---------------------------------------------------- cp, the small 27M won't work with 600ohm input impedance of the Vxx amp. the current 27M that is at richard's place has 2 sets of outputs. one set of the outputs has a fair size output cap. it might be able to drive the Vxx. that output probably produces a roll off just under 30hz. it is not optimum but should give reasonable performance. if it is reasonable, then a change of the cap to a higher value should be able to drive those Vxx amps. |
