The tube shows M8137 and CV4004. Please do not consider any different CV4004 as they simply not up to the expectation. I'll show a photo later this week. Do you want to try them? |

| [#2742] ECC83 Gingers, Bingo. Very important as it marks: "made in Gt. Britian" Those marked "made in Great Britian" is not as good as the former one. We only learnt through various comparison as we have started stocking more Mullard CV4004 after our last listening two years back. Yours have date code ZL, probably the latest in 70s but still should outperform most other Mullard or ordinary X7 in all aspect. Perhaps I should say in pre-amp such as QUAD 22,, Matisse or Marantz 7 so far we have tried. More importantly, its price is still considered reasonable at below GBP50 each. I am willing to pay $2000 to $3000 (although much less in the market) for the early production if the 803s is priced at now $5,000. Not necessarily 803s is sonically better. |
