| [#2783] Limage's Magnepan Morning limage, Everything works out fine, thank you. The school is impressive, actually a lot of the scenes in Harry Potter were taken there. The music director there made another auditioning, much impressed and has made his private 300+ years old cello available waiting for him to come. Consistency is a very important point. My son had an excellent performance in his last concert, a marvellous show of virtuosity that I haven't seen in recent years. There were quite a few big names in the local music arena that have attended the concert and have given the same comment. A professor in the HK Academy for Performing Arts commented to me last evening that my son has surpassed all standards in the APA and anyone better than him is not home grown. It would be a waste to send him to a private school in UK; he should be sent straight away to Julliard. I'm afraid that is an unjustified conceit based on one performance as I'm sure my son has not achieved that type of CONSISTENCY, as I haven't seen the same virtuosity during any of his practicing sessions. |

| [#2784] 老虎頭上釘蚤x --- QUAD ESL 大戰 Magnepan With everybody taking turns to make pilgrimage to Ivan’s, which has literally become a Mecca, Limage The Sailor Man must be quite complacent lately (just kidding). QUAD ESLs, albeit without the dynamic range which the bigger Maggies are known for, are more capable of dissolving, or extracting, the minutest inner detail from your record groove. Patrick is rumored to have successfully restored my ESL-63. I think a lot of us are interested in finding out how the QUAD ESL-57/63 stacks against Magnepan 3.5R. I have two proposals: a) Have the ESL-63s which Patrick just finished repairing transported to Limage’s where they can be ABed with Ivan’s Magnepan 3.5R. b) Have my newly acquired 3.5R dropped off at CP’s where they can be compared with ESL-57 and ESL-63. What do you folks think? |
