| [#2964] ESL 120 I think Patrick must be very happy today. After restored Feikeung’s ESL63 , he decided to get one pair for himself wherever it is available, Ebay, Audiogon…etc. Yesterday, he was told a pair was being offered in Ap Liu Street. Then we met with seller this afternoon. The seller just wants to get rid of it, so a very attractive price was offered. After Patrick's thorough checking, he found that pair was in excellent condition. The deal was done. At the same time, Dennis’s attention was drawn by another pair ESL57 that was displayed at the same place by mistake. For those who are looking for decent ESL57, with Dennis present, you have no chance at all. Dennis has taken it immediately. I believe, seller is happy, because these two pairs Quad giant loudspeaker had been sitting in his warehouse for too long, he should celebrate if both were taken in one day. Patrick is happy , because his dream came true. Dennis is also happy, he is getting close to fulfill his double quad project |

Several days ago when I visited him, he clearly stated that he was adamant to get a pair of ESL63s in the light of the good performance of the reinstated pair in his siting room. Good gracious he attained his goal within such a short period of time! He gave me a ring today. His voice was filled with joy and excitement. I look forward to seeing his new toy. |

| [#2970] ESL 120 Dear all, Before we set off to ALS, we took a short listening session to Feikeung's ESL63 this afternoon with one side speaker installed with 4 new panels. I believed Patrick has fixed the previous problem and we only heard a bit frame rattling noice when playing the Ondekoza probably the open frame has not been mounted yet. We also heard some blooming from the room and I guess the ESL63 will sing more freely in a larger space, say 12' by 20'. Limage, any coincidence? We also had a bit of luck as Patrick is just able to acquire a pair of original ESL63 pro in decent condition today. So from now on, we have a good pair of 63 pro reference system in Patrick's place for final golden ear QC before delivery. So by all means, Feikeung should be able to hear his babies singing sweetly in due course. Please book a flight with Patrick. Congratution. Dear Conde, Alan, Your electrostatic dream will soon come true. Please stay in the queue. |

| [#2975] ESL 63 Dear Gingers and CP, Jumping ESL63's queue? Hahahaha. Just for quick reference after 3 minutes listening to Patrick's new 63. My very vague first impression on the original 63 was that its mid range was closer to ESL57's character and vocal is slightly warmer than the restored one, of course both 63 has more hifi element than old and true 57. But both mid range is still not in ESL57's league yet. So my dual plans or wishes, buy one pair 63 and heading to a stacked 57 system. |
