[#281] QUAD ESL speaker service i recently got ESL57. However, the banana plugs of my speaker cables do not fit the speaker terminal of ESL 57. Do you know what kind of plug I should use? Thanks

[#284] QUAD ESL speaker service >Hi All, what's the right meter (with 2Mohm input >inpendence?) for the high volt probe. It would depend on the specs of the HV Probe but most need a DMM with 10MOhm input impedance. Make sure the jacks/plugs match too.

[#285] QUAD ESL speaker service My stands finally arrived after having 2 prototypes reviewed :) but I'll be off for my xmas vacation so I can't try the ESl's on them yet :( They can be mass loaded with sand and have spikes that allow tilting both ways by 10degees front and back to get the right beam to my listening position. They are still in the plastic wrap but I could't resist trying them out: http://tinypic.com/ir02kp.jpg http://tinypic.com/ir0s5f.jpg http://tinypic.com/ir0sgy.jpg http://tinypic.com/ir0sn6.jpg

[#288] 2006 >>mozilla, how is the improvement >>after using the stands? Hi powercord, I've only set it up & charging for 5 hours on the new stands. So far stands allow me to fine tune the positioning very well to get the sweet spot. The sound is more focused & clearer now but I will report back after the ESL's have been left charging for at least 50 hours. These ESL's have a very narrow sweet spot and it takes some effort to get it right. I played some pink noise and was able to determine a narrow window to listen in. Once that was found, the music came out very clear, focused and balanced. I'm looking forward to hearing them after a couple of days left charging.

[#292] QUAD ESL Hi, everybody, How's your ESL? Mine is sitting quietly since my first born baby in December. I have to turn the volume really low when she's sleeping (It seems she's sleeping all the time). So no hifi fun at all this and last month. Any other ESL user here to share his experience? Wish to say happy lunar new year to you all. Kung Hei Fat Choi Dennis

[#295] QUAD ESL Hi I am glad that I am living so close to the Quad factory in UK. Their service is very good. They repair my Quad II system with 1 year warranty period. People are kind and helpful. Only draw back is that they stop doing respraying. I am planning to bring the QUad ESL speaker for replacement of all panel. I bought a book from them. It is all about Quad II and ESL. I think it is a MUST HAVE for all Quad vintage lovers. It is a hard cover book (quite big) with good picture and descrpition on quad history and philosophy. And price is only 49 pounds. ![]()

[#296] QUAD ESL Was under the impression that most of the old folks at QUAD UK had been long gone. I asked Sancore Group here in Hong Kong about fixing my ESL-63 and the answer(s) have been negative.

[#301] QUAD ESL Just casually put them in place to check if everything is ok. They are now driven by Quad II. The sound is extremely open. Midrange very attractive and involving. However, I haven't got the image right yet. Sound a bit dark, brighten up somewhat when driven by Leak St20. ![]()
