I witnessed twice that there is no drilled holes on the ceiling. As a serious audiophile, how can one not try the hung/suspended method in order to exhaust every possibility about "the best" coupling in a particular room?!!! To be honest, I am NOT serious enough. :)  |

For the ceiling suspension setup,I 've try it but not with the Maggies. May be next time, I'll do it the other way, hang myself and listen to the speaker. |

| [#3538] QUAD ESL Feikeung, While I'd re-positioned my ESL57 again by following your suggested toe-in angle today, speaker and listening position at almost equal distance, the outcome is tremendous with sound stage being widen and heighten up dramatically. As a result, all instruments sound become more vivid and vocal become luscious. Mouth sixe turned into 2 inches as requested by Patrick. I think I really felt in love with the OTL sound with my ESL57. My only reservation but minor when using your OTL is that it sounds a lttle bit over tight (only very little degree after speaker position changed) when playing guitar. CP is right, I turned the volmue down and even switched his TVC from 6db gain to zero. I guess the unbridged mode GM20 will give me full satisfaction. Your Modena will no doubt sound great to my ear. Please let me know if you intended to sell them one day. I shall try another passive pre-amp and hope you could treasure your OTL as they are real gem. |
