| [#3843] OTL for ESL Dear CP and Patrick, Thanks for the special on-site tuning serice and review by you two master. Everything is in good progress and I hope to run in the TVC as fast as possible. If 150 hrs run-in is required, I am afraid I am still 143 hours behind as the TX102 transformer and silver wires are only newly installed. In my place, the GM20 and TVC combo is far superior to my rwference QUAD II/22. It was Feikeung who started the fire and I am fully satisfied with the OTL sound. The OTL and TVC simply set a new height and listening experience to me. |

| [#3844] OTL for ESL Dr King, Your TX-102 is a great sounding. Since I did not want to screw it up given my poor DIY-skills. I took it to Brian Cherry (a nice Canadian gentleman) for the non magnetic case and all fixing. Your TVC matches extremely well with my Linn phono amp and Graaf OTL. Wide and deep deep sound stage with all transparency and cleaniness I am chasing for. Frankly, I was thinking listening to the Nagra and Modena combo. I took yours and CP's advice to put a low capacitance silver Kimber Kable between the pre and OTL. Probably will have to souce for another pair beiween the Linn and TVC in near future. If you are taking a break in Kowloon, please kindly give me a call and see if you could drop by. I wish the take my pleasure showing you how well your TX-102 works with my GM20 and ESL57. |

| [#3845] OTL for ESL Dear all, I forgot telling you that I am packing up my QUAD 22 pre-amp to make room for the new TVC. It looks it's time about retirement after fifty odd years of her service. The OTL simply outpforms the QUAD II amp by a large margin when using with ESL57. However, I still find the, vocal and string are still a strong and charming contender by all means. I am thinking connecting them directly to my old Mcintosh MR71 tube tuner with volume control. |

| [#3849] OTL for ESL Doctor, I have a strange feeling. Given the TVC works pretty well in my system, I want to try head to head benchmark with the most tranparent pre-amp again. CP's Nagra is returned. Frankly, your 27M is one of the several most tranparent preamp I've ever heard when Richard kindly took it to my place few month back. If possible and convenient, May I suggest we put them side by side. It would be quite a challenge in terms of tansparency to your 27M when meeting pre-passive, On the other hand, the TVC will have to face the tough reality to meetig a first-class active pre-amp. Of course, I am gaining full confident on anything coming from your hand. It seems you are proving yourself not only a real audiophile on paper but also with a pair of golden ears. I am NOT a sucker, I am only telling from my heart. |

I was entirely enthralled by the TVC when I borrowed CP's Music First TVC to play with the Modena in my place using a Kimber Streak RCA between. Whilst the more expensive Cardas and Venture balance cable made the TVC/ OTL sounds ordinary. I hope you could come along to hear the OTL and passive, which is highly recommended by some audiophile people in the internet world. I also wish to show you the passive pre can work with the lower output phono amp. Of course, please do not expect the TVC performs on same par when compared with the loudest active preamp. I have changed back to the original ESL speaker with lesser bass and some flattering noise problem from the newly mounted dust cover inside. So you need to bear with these in the mean time if you don't mind. Will you and Mr Leung be more freely on weekday, or weekend? Please kindly advise. |

It makes me feel "sin" when we are asking Limage to accommodate so many gears in his well decorated studio. Unless he is deciding for a coming renovation, otherwise the chance is so remote. I am afraid. |

| [#3861] OTL for ESL It seems you are proving yourself not only a real audiophile on paper but also with a pair of golden ears. --------------------------------------------------- dennis, Golden ears! you must have mistaken. i don't look like limage at all. or for that matter the good old dr. john. as you said, it is tough for any active preamp to be more transparent than a passive. we will see. Richard has the latest version of 27M which hopefully is better than the version you listened to. regarding interconnect, it is nothing fancy. i personally think if your system is balanced, any interconnect with good material and sensible structure should do nicely. |

Just kindly name us where the place would be most convenient to you and Richard. My place or CP's studio (I believed CP has given his green signal) is never a question. We can arrange transport even from Central all the way to Hung Hom (my home) or Yuen Long (CP) of course return trip. If inconvenient, I can bring my finished TVC in non-magnetic Django cage to Richard's studio. I guess we have to wait for your return from your trip in July. |
