[#4144] ESL Tim, I'm afraid you might be wrong in this respect. The 2154 is equipped with 2 mic inputs, one radio input which is a normal line input and other 2 for phono and film which are equalized by its proprietary transformers rather than by an equalization circuit. It's output is an 600ohm output transformer, a rather big round one. ![]()

[#4145] ESL CP, I stand corrected. I had confused this with the Klangfilm KLV-002 type of pre-amp. This is so much to learn about German vintage gears. And please share with us your progress in working with the 2154 + V69. The 2154 are very popular with Korean buyers. They must have figured out how to use them in hifi.

[#4148] ESL Mr. Liu is actually a friend of mine - he is currently the director of mainland marketing for King's Audio and is very active indeed. I mentioned your comment to him when I was on the phone with him yesterday, and he wants to invite you over to his office in Kwun Tong. I have his phone number. Let me know if you want to contact him directly.

[#4150] ESL Alas, I can hear something that has hope for my future set up. Don't you agree the performance of the speaker under such circumstance and set up is great and grand. Yes, may be you are right it is lack of something, something..... but what can you expect from such low cost equipment. Personally, I can't have such grand and enjoyable sound from my used Double Q, 63 or Acou. Applause! "CHINESE ESL' I would like to have one in the future.

[#4156] ESL I would love to join too. But what if it is just Mr. Liu’s office plus possibly a small warehouse for the speakers? We’ll be wasting Mr. Liu’s time as well as ours. What we really like to have is a good audition of the speakers at their very best. Isn’t it?

[#4157] ESL but what can you expect from such low cost equipment. Personally, I can't have such grand and enjoyable sound from my used Double Q, 63 or Acou. ____________________________________________________________________ dnch, Do you have the double Quad and 63 in your current set up? I would love to refresh my memory of these lovely speakers that I enjoyed so much years ago. I don't have a clue about how much a King's ESL cost, but to say that they sound grander and more enjoyable than the double Quad or 63 is just beyond my imagination. I'm more than happy with a single pair of 57. But as feikeung remarked, whilst the effort of King is commendable, the ESL is still not up to scratch with the Quad as auditioned in the exhibition. Do you have a second opinion?

[#4161] ESL 星兄, Monday to Friday, office hours, I'll be there. In fact, I'll like you to visit dkyyu, PCS100 or myself first to get a feel of the typical ESL sound before being preempted by the King's ESL sound. Frankly I don't know how that sound and the comments so far collected are not entirely favourable.

[#4163] ESL Sorry, I don't have such speaker now. The time of DQ was 1981, it is part of my HQD, 63 was 1990 and Acou was 1993.Single pair of them, sweetest is 57, Acou best in Bass and 63 is most analytical. But overall performance DQ is the best of 3. Every Loudspeaker has weakest and best in some ways and I just said what I have heard and also the others can say so. Nothing much. (such low cost equipment) are the pre-amp, power-amp,cables and socket-outlets, not the speaker. (US$32,000 is not low cost)
