| [#4472] QUAD ESL speaker You are welcomed, emptied hand or anything, indeed. Can I suggest bringing 230v operating machines instead of 110V? I guess you probably understand. I also wish you to hear the TVC passive pre. It sounds bloody good with exceptional transparency when I increased the bias of GM20 OTL to factory standard 30ma Tim reminding me that according to Ken Kessler, the best amplifier for LS3/5a is the Graaf GM20. We did try that out and within 2 minutes I have to acquiesce. --------------------------------------------- Dennis I think Colin will pick me up on Friday, then we shall take the 27M at APM. Great :-) We have limage this morning. I always find fun if an amplifier was reported to mix well with LS3/5A :-) I would like to taste your esl57 set up :-) Hope both Richard/ King can come. CP Will you bring along CD set up? We need it to demo 'Powder and ink is dream' and other reference CD. Of course, if LP version is available, then forget it :-) John |

After my hot favourite, the pig knuckle served with the dried noodle, we can go next door to Austrialian Milk Farm for a bowl of hot 雙皮奶. My turn. Limage and Gingers, I have already tried the LS3/5s with Graaf with the speaker positioned about 11 feet away from the rear window. I guess you would probably think you were sitting in Limage's studio with at least 50% of sound stage and quality if blindfolded. Of course, the bass from LS3/5s is not the same issue as Maggie. Let me figure out the best way about the transportation. |

I suggest we leave the 27M alone this time until the arrival of Richard and Dr King in near future. Frankly, I have high interest in high-end pre such as 27M for partnering with my Graaf but I have big concern on accommodating the huge size of two 27M box at home. I'd expressed my concern to King the other night but I heard him saying there would be 4 boxes instead of 2 when rolling out from production. :( My goodness. |

| [#4481] QUAD ESL speaker CP, I just took out my almost brand new NAD CD player from the store room I bought 12 years ago and it is now undergo at least 60 hours burn in exercise. It has a coaxial out for connection to external DAC and I recall it sounded much better when I connected it to the first generation of California Audio Lab tube DAC. If possible, I hope to try it with the Moodlab. But please bear in mind that after playing the NAD for 1 hour since open new from its packing box 12 years ago, I decided stop buying CD player since then. |

| [#4483] QUAD ESL speaker Gingers, It's about 26 feet long front window to rear wall. The room size is a bit wierd in a sense that it is long and narrow. I tried 6, 7, 8 and 9 feet but my 4M speaker cable cannot stretch longer than 11 ft between amp and furthest speaker because of amp and speaker stand height. You will hear the difference when moving changing the distance. |

| [#4484] QUAD ESL speaker Gingers, After placing the LS3/5s 11 feet from the front window. I and my domestic helper hear no sound coming out from the speaker anymore even turning up the volume to 3 o'clock. I simply sit about 6 feet from the speaker and all instruments and vocal are positioned at least 10 feet away from both speakers. Sounds bull shitting but I am not sure whether this is good or poor sounding by any mean. That's my feeling and why I described it 50% of feel like sitting in Limage's studio. |
