The good point is they can and shall be placed very close to the side walls, unlike the 57 which in my opinion shall be placed further away from side walls. _____________________________ Planar speakers in general have to be placed close to side walls to reduce cancellation. This is easily understood. Yet they also need a gap of no less than 4 inches for breathing, lest they tend to suffocate. This is not so easily understood. I tend to believe both the 57 and 63 require somewhere between 6 to 12 inches for optimum results. |

| [#4657] QUAD ESL 63 speaker this visit turned out to be my poison tour ----------------------------------- Dear ESL Lovers, I am glad my ESL63 did not disappointed Gingers yesterday. After many lengthy experiment, I finally figured out the cause of disatisfaction of my ESL63 before. There were nothing wrong with the panels nor the electronic boards. It was my careless mistake to install one of the board reversed. Causing the front stator and back stator wiring being connected reversed. As a result, cancellation of sound created. There was nothing wrong with internal wiring. However, replacing the old (chicken wire) wiring in the spearker further improved the sound clarity and transparence. Thanks to Dr. King for providing the superior wire for me. I am now satisfied with the sound of my ESL63 and in the process of final installation. I would like to invite you to share and welcome your comment. Enjoy!!! |
