Remember the treble/midrange panels are charged up to 3000V while the bass panels are charged to 6000+V. A drop in the input voltage is going to cause a more significant reduction, relatively, in the strength of the electrostatic field in the bass panels thereby may result in the "midrange glare" that you perceived. Just a guess. |

There is no thrilling sound effect, no thundering bass, no flashing dynamic and no spotlight effect that afflicts with artificial soundstage of most modern chinese recordings; just plain British music that demonstrates the naturalness and fidelity of reproducing orchestral details by the Quad electrostatic.  |
