"men with small dick shouldn't be dating big negro women" That was the conclusive statement from feikeung as we shuffled out of limage's castle Wednesday night. Quite understandable. What can't be question with the event , though, is limage's serious approach in this kind of Hi-fi "orgy" and as always, he gets the whole house involved. Serving us what appears to be endless supply of fresh fruit, assortment of cakes & pastries, exotic coffee and few bottles of house wine. Not only has he he spent 4 days in preparing the perfect "stage" to entice the gentle lady - Madame ESL 63, but he took a risk on matching her with his CJ Premier One as an opener - a 200 watts monster and one of very few pimps on the street strong enough to "bitch slab" and "man handle" Maggie-the-whore. Note, however, that nothing in my opinion here dictates any long term relationship using any of the 4 amps on the ESL or Maggies (that would require living with a system for a period of time and having long listening sessions regularly). Further more, I would exclude Rcwy's little Ms. Blackie from the verdict- she's too pretty and still a virgin! So....given all the factors, positive and negative ( including those mentioned in CP's article earlier) involved with Wednesday audition and using almost only the ESL 63, I look for the following: 1) Texture ( the lack thereof) 2) Low level resolution and inner detail 3) Dimensionality and "body" In the end, the Audiomaster failed to move me. I know that many folks like it, and I do think it has nice dimensionality and body. Except after a while the "flavor" from the EL 34 just gotten too sweet, too sweet for my taste bud. I simply found it hard to get past the "perfume" and become involved in the music. Matched with " Maggies", the CJ Premier One shares many of the positive traits I've attributed to the Graaf OTL combo with ESL 63: well-nuanced detail retrieval, admirable dynamics and full-bodied on instruments and vocals. At the extremes, the bass of Premier One goes deeper and wider. But on Wednesday, when we switched the CJ with the Graaf on the ESL, it was obvious that the 200 watts of CJ may have been too voluptuous for the ESL to dissolve. Because the 60 watts from Graaf OTL gave more air and sounded more relaxed with the ESL ( noticeable on Corky Segels and Mahler 5). However, the table turned drastically later when Mr. Modena climbed in bed with Maggie-the-whore, simply put, Maggie kicked sand in the face of Graaf Modena. So, there you have it "men with small dick shouldn't be dating big negro women".  |
