Like I told you, I have never heard my esl sounded so good before with yr super grade 6DJ8s. I don't need to listen to it carefully to tell it's more detail, more transparence and the background is dead silence. Now I know how much difference a good tube can make. The Mullards you gave me also sounded very good. Although it's not as good as yr super grades, but still better than my Telefunkens. I am very happy with them. Thanks a million. They have been left in my brother's basement and I am thinking to bring them back when my brother and her daughter return to HK at year end. Thanks for your kindess again. CP, it would be fine to me just bring any pair of your cable (no less than 8 feet) you are currently using when we next met. It would be interesting to hear a German cable partner with old British speakers again. Patrick, I wonder how well or how hard the single end 300B amp driving the ESL. It would be quite an experience. Please make sure your amp can tolerate the difficult loading of ESL, i.e from 30 ohm all the way down to below 1 ohm. CP, any comment on this issue or any precaution Patrick will need? CP and Patrick, if drop by Hung Hom, please call mee for a cup of tea or let's visit Limage's pastry shop. Feikeung have already warn me about the impedance claiming that it is dangerous to drive the ESL57 with 300B single ended. However, a friend of mine in SF have been using the 300B to drive his ESL57 for years and I know he plays very loud. I have not heard he got any problem so far. I'll take the risk.
