[#1083] Quad ESL Album Details: Falla: La Vida Breve, El Amor Brujo, Etc / Giulini, Et Al Release Date: 09/11/2001 Label: Emi Great Recordings Of The Century Catalog #: 67590 Spars Code: ADD _____________________________________________________________________ feikeung, I do not have this CD but I found the original 1963 recording of the complete ballet "El Sombrero de Tres Picos" by de Burgos, of which I think your CD is an extract. I just played it on my super lo-fi with Telefunken horn speakers at home and still find it a very good recording by Christopher Parker. De Los Angeles was singing from quite far away and yes, it will be best demonstrated by limage's Maggies with deep and great soundstage. But for Ms de Los Angeles' lustrous vocal, please come to me!!

[#1084] Quad ESL I also want to hear the voice coming out from the muscular throat of an human being, and not from a speaker. The speaker should also be completely disappear in front of me. That's all I ask! Not much, Isn't it? _____________________________________________________________________________ Patrick, No, that's not much to ask, but too much to do. To say a system sounds good but you just don't like it is more than sarcastic!

[#1086] Quad ESL CP......That system was good sounding but not up to the stage that I wanted to keep it. I would have kept it if I don't have my QS on hand. Regds

[#1094] Quad ESL A very accurate stocktake. limage, you are a real good businessman. I never did that and I estimated I have more or less 2500+ LPs. Together with my 6000+ CDs, I hope I live long enough after retirement to finish one round!!

[#1095] Quad ESL Good morning CP, When I am damn serious, you can almost be certain I am just bluffing. It is true, however, that I did run through each LP from my collection, which is no small achievement, I suppose.

[#1096] Quad ESL I did run through each LP from my collection, which is no small achievement __________________________________________________________________________________ It is indeed admirable, in particular with notes on every pieces and movements with volume settings, remarks etc. I did run through all of them, some more than once, but mostly very casually. And I tend to forget all of them afterwards.

[#1097] Quad ESL I just browsed through my CD racks and find 41 different versions of Brahms' violin concerto. Not sure whether that makes me a Brahms' maniac.

[#1101] Quad ESL Great. Let me make a count as well. That could be difficult because some B concertos are embedded in the Brahms, Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky's.

[#1102] Quad ESL The Shaham Barber is a great one. Another good one you should try is Joshua Bell with Zinman/Baltimore.
